The screen is blank

Have you tried brightening the screen? Go to tools, then display, then LCD Brightness. You have 3 options here, low, medium and bright....0,1 and 2 respectively.

I have the same problem but I find it resolves itself and will come back it seems to be when it's not used for a while, it may be related the battery being low on power or bizarely the screen getting cold!,
it's only a theory mind you more likely is a dry joint somewhere in the circuitry but an expensive repair is the only way I see of resolving this.Personally I was never offfered any insurance when I purchased mine and now regret I never pushed this point, I purchased mine from QVC.
