Rainsoft silver series regineration didn't stop after 2 hours

Our Rainsoft silver series regineration did not stop after 2 hours. I had to manually stop it. The clock is not moving. I think the timer motor is bad. Where do I find a new one and how do I replace it? Can I do this myself or do I need a service call?

I have a four-tank RainSoft system. Two of my Silver Series controllers have stopped working and need to be replaced. If you are the original owner, they are warrentied. You just have to produce a sales slip and pay for the labor.

Our Titan N-120 stopped heating suddenly so they suggested we change the elements. My husband bought 2 elements but apparently he didn't realize 1 is 5000W and the other 5500W. Now could this stil

the bigger wattage elements will heat quicker and consume more power
If they fit , they will work but you may have to check the amperage capacity of the circuit breaker
I imagine you are meant to replace the existing elements which woukd have been half what was purchased

To light the pilot on my OS Smith water heater, I follow the instructions in the label, but nothing happens, no hot water after one hour. Read that there is problems with water heaters, I have some...

Thank you for providing clear description of product:
Your water heater has intellivent gas control thermostat.
There are always problems with water heaters. It is a huge field.

1) Open following link for AO Smith service manuals.
I do not see service manual specifically for the GP series.

2) Open following link to identify gas valve and download typical service manual:
Some AO smith power vent models have intellivent gas valve, and some have smart valve gas vent. Older models might have knob-type gas valve.

Premier Plus Model#MHE62-30H-045DV Ser#45T421608 I just purchased this hot water heater.I had it professionally installed by a plumber. We had hot water before I went to bed but when I woke in the morning...

sounds like you have a power problem. or worst than that a leak . So lets look at the leak first. Turn off the water supply at the water heater on top. This valve should be on the cold side of the heater on top.

Turn it off, check and see if you have pressure in the house by turning on a faucet. It should run for a second then stop. That is good if it does. Leave the valve off on the heater and check that your breaker is on. Reset the breaker by turning it on and off.

Wait about 2 hours turn the heater back on and check to see how hot the water is hot then you might have a leak in the building. If there is not or little hot water. Check the wires where it connects to the water heater. You might only have one wire that is connected right.

The best thing to do is to get a amo meter and check to see if you have 220 if you dont have 220 you will not warm up the water the way it should.

Thanks Richard

I just bought a house, and the water heater instructions posted on the water heater is all covered up by the earthquake straps! The earthquake straps are a requirement in California, I can't remove them....

1) Model 41VR50N is Rheem fury gas water heater.
Look on tank label, the second 2 digits of serial number are year of manufacture.

2) Rheem does not show that specific model number, but has generic manuals for Fury series:
Open link to read about Fury series, and access brochures and manuals.

3) Sample manual for Fury appears on following link:

4) Rheem phone number: 1-800-432-8373

Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on water heater or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

The timer is a 24 hour type, designed specifically for use with electric water heaters. The simplest way to keep the water heater on 24 hours a day is to remove the "trippers". The "trippers" are the movable black and silver metal clips that are held on the edge of the time dial with thumbscrews. Unscrew the thumbscrew on all the trippers and remove the tripper for the time dial.

Just below the time dial, you'll find the manual switch lever. On some models, it pokes through an opening on in the door / front cover - on others it can only be operated by opening the door. Move this manual switch lever to your choice of on or off position. The switch will not longer be operated automatically - and will stay in the position you have chosen until you or someone else changes it.
