Question about GPX TV6000 9 in. TV/DVD Combo

Video playback Recently I have been inserting a video cassette into the Bush TV, pressing play on the remote. The TV plays a very small bit of the cassette and then automatically switches off. I have fixed the clock. What else do I need to do? This trouble has only started recently. Your help would be great, thanks, Peter Colledge

Thanks for this. Does this mean taking the television apart or is there something on the market I could use?

This must be a vcr tape you are talking about thats in a tv
well the reason is the tape may not be working correctly inside ( tape not going at proper speed for tape sensors to reconize as correct , this is due to disc clutch pads that are starting to slip because of to much strain on the pull of the tape
gears will need to be lubricated and rubber pulling wheels will need to be cleaned

this would require taking apart the tv as manual cleaning and lubrication will need to be done

Dvd player wont play

I found this on the PROSCAN website under customer support manuals. The website is www.oncorpus.com.I hope this information helps you with your problem. IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’.
2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below)
3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary
information then stop at a main menu screen.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during
playback.
5.Use the direction button on the remote control to select the desired option. Press ENTER to select the
option or press the ► button. Playback will now commence.
6.After playback, press the EJECT button on remote control or EJECT button on TV/DVD to remove the
disc.
Note: No function‘’ will sometimes appear on the screen after a button is pressed. This indicates that the
function is not supported at the current time.

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)

TV shuts itself off as soon as I press 'play' on video.

The set has a problem on the mechanical section of the VCR,it might be out of aligment or a part has gone bad completely and now needs to be replaced, dirty heads will not give you these symptoms, the power supply is sensing a problem and is doing what is suppose to do when it detects a problem,it seems that you only have a use for the TV unless you get the vcr repair.
