Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook

2 Answers

Can't connect to wireless.

I have an Inspiron 6000 i bought in '05. I was wonderign if anyone knew why the computer will not detect any wireless signals when the guy next to me can. Is it out of date or what. I can connect to it in a hotel or something. Right now I am currently deployed over seas and there are WiFi out on base. The guys here in the building I am in can get the signal but I can't. Any suggestions?

Hiii,

Firstly Hard reset the router. For reseating the router, please insert a pin in the whole on the router. Then after reseating the router, place the laptop and router near each other and with in the reach of 6 meters.

Then set up a wired connectivity. Try and download an istall the latest drivers. The link for downloading the drivers is given below. the link is as follows:
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_6000&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

after going to this link you can look for the drivers depending upon the Operating system you are using and for more information you can also log onto a website. the link is as follows:-

Dell inspiron 6000 error mesage permament battery failure detected. Replaced the battery and still get the message. Computer won't boot up

Tons of people have this problem with dell computers sadly, the motherboard is refusing it's new part. The reason they do this is so you send in the computer to their tech dept so they can make more money pretty much :p Remember, most new tech is meant to break like this, and usually leaves the tech dept in beta.

The only real fix is to replace the motherboard, or buy a new laptop.

Or you're having really bad luck and the second battery you bought is a dud too.

My inspiron 6000 will connect to my wireless

Several resoning behind this one. One check your firewall setting, and make sure your wireless card have permission. Two, make sure that your mac filtering is turn off. Your wirless network has it own mac address and it is not in the router as to be aloud, it will block it. Three if your wireless network has a password, make sure you enter in right, it is case sensative. Four make certain that you have your wireless device is connected to the modem, or modem wireless combine. Finally, if you were running wired, try to clean the temperary ineternet filess off.

Dell Inspiron 6000 won't connet wireless network after reinstall

check DEVICE MANAGER if the wireless card have the right driver installed. if you found that the wireless card have yellow exclamation point on the right it means, you installed a wrong driver.

check also in BIOS if the wireless card is enable and the switch is turn on.

press Fn+F2 to enable wireless radio/anthena (funtion key with wireless icon in blue color)

some dell laptop have hard switch located right side check this and turn the switch on.

if you want to see the icon n task bar, go to control panel....network connection...right click on wireless adapter...select properties...check Show on taskbar

I dont think we can use a hard disk of 160gb in an inspiron 6000. and make sure you bought a ATA hard drive and not a SATA drive. For the Western digital try to reinstall XP and install the device drivers before installing application s/w.

Dell Inspiron 6000 with network card Intel/Pro Wireless 2200 BG

So u can connect to the router, but you arent allowet to access the internet?
The router gave your dell a new ip-number, but it dident gave you access to the net. You ned to do the settings in your router manual, let the router give your dell full access.

Good luck
