Do you have access to logging in to the router?

    What model router is it?

So are you trying to get into the router or just use the wireless of the router.

I want to be sure of what "password" you need?

The security password is the encryption password for the wireless network. You are still getting to your ISP, but via the Wireless network that's set up on the Router. If you can't get the wireless password, connect a Cat5e cable to the router itself and work that way.

If I understand this correctly, Your work's IT people setup your router and you need the Security Password to access?

You should ask your work's IT people for the password.
If you are asking how to break that security key, I'm am not sure you will find that info here.

Connect to the router via a cable.
Open CMD (command) prompt and type:
iconfig
you will see a default gateway listed - write the ip address down.
Open internet explorer and enter the gateway address into the address bar.
Should open a web page to configure the router.
You may have to provide a password.

How to Change Security Settings on Belkin Wireless Router

Someone pressed the reset button on my belkin n600 db n+ router, and now I can't get it to work with my laptop! Help

It just clears any custom settings, and the laptop IP may still be cached (in memory).

From the laptop go to Start > Search (Run in XP) and type cmd ENTER. In the command prompt type ipconfig /release ENTER. Then type ipconfig /renew ENTER. This just refreshes your IP. Test it. Remember custom network and password are gone.
There is a paper tab underneath the unit with the default wireless name and password.
Use a network cable computer to access web interface. 192.168.2.1 to see that information as well. No user or password for the web page.

The belkin rounter of my dad's laptop was installed without password setting. i tried to set it up on 192.168.2.1 configuration page. i was notified that the rounter will restart again itself...thereafter...

If you can still remember the password that you entered on the configuration page, follow the steps below:
1. In the lower right corner of your screen (near the time and date), right click on the wireless network connection icon, then select view available wireless networks. Or, if your wireless adapter has its own wireless utility, you should see that in the lower right corner of your screen.
2. You should see the router's wireless network name (SSID). By default, the SSID is "belkin54g". Select the SSID and it will prompt you for the network key.
3. The network key is the password that you entered on the router configuration page.

If you cannot remember the password that you entered, follow the steps below.
a. Connect your computer to the router using an ethernet cable.
b. Access the setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar.
c. Go to Wireless -> Security. Copy the network key.
d. Then follow steps 1-4 above.

For the MAC computer:
1. From the Airport menu, select the SSID.
4. When asked for a password, enter the network key that you entered on the router.

I hope this helps!

I have installed a Belkin G Wireless Modem Router-F5D7634-4 Internet connection is fine, but I'm not able to connect with wireless connection. Can someone help me to configure this please?

You have to configure your router's wireless setup. To do that, you need to connect you computer/laptop to your router using ehernet cable (cat5). Once you're done, open internet explorer/firefox and enter your router's ip address (can be found in your manual or at the back of your router), you will be ask for username and password (just enter the default if you dont change it before, username: admin , password: none/blank. depends on manufacturer). After you provide and entered those information, you're now on the setup proccess. Just go to wireless setup menu and select your options there. Remember, enable DHCP for the router to automatically assign an ip for your computers. Goodluck!

On the back of the router, there is a tiny reset button. With router on, hold that button down for 10 seconds. This restores the router to its original factory settings. The password will be blank and the IP will be 192.168.2.1

We cannot remember the password so we can connect a new laptop. Is there somewhere on the desktop we can find the password?

  1. Connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the Belkin wireless router.
  1. Open your web browser and type the router IP address of the router (by default, the address is http://192.168.2.1.) in the address bar and press Enter.
  2. Click Login on the top of the page to login to the router. By default the Password is left blank, click Submit.
  3. Click Security under Wireless menu.

There you will see your encryption key.
Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
