Hi,
The first thing to do, to make your player ready for file transfer in Windows, is to Format the player with Windows.
When connected to a PC, in My Computer, it will appear as a Removeable Drive. Right click on it and choose Format.
Complete the process and you are ready to transfer files!

Try to format the removable disk drive where your device are connected. The type of format should be FAT, not NTFS.
After this you should be able to copy your files back and get correct memory size again.

Good luck!

Unable to copy video fiels which are in mp4 format...

does the pc recognise the device when you connect it? if so you should be able to access the drive which contains the mp4 folders. very rare that they will be kept on the top level of the drive. navigate to the folder on the device which would normally contain your mp4 files and drag files from your storage backup folder direct to the device. checking that you have the files in the correct format ie: .mp4 you should find they play fine. try to avoid wherever possible using the acctual software which controls your music device as they are prone to complications.

Where does a deleted file go? any chance for recovery?

You are going to have to start again, first connect the unit to your computer copy anything you want to save piccys movies and stuff but not the corrupted music files, Format the drive, then goto http://www.nodevice.com/driver/_PVR-H140/get33981.html download the driver files and re-install to the PVR, then copy all your mp3 files back.........

File format error - Transcend T.sonic 610(1gb)

I had the same problem. I had formatted the player's drive using Windows explorer and the got this error: "File Format error" while trying to play any mp3 file.
I went to the command prompt. Deleted all files:
E:\> del *
Then I copied the MP3 files again in the T.sonic MP3 player. All MP3 files played fine after this.

Unable to delete files and recover unused space

This actually sounds a lot like the problem pointed out in 'can't delete songs on sansa m230', and I'll bet it's got the same solution (you can read my full explanation there, but I'll just give the gist of it here). The Sansa has two USB settings, 'Auto Detect' and 'MSC'; for some reason songs put on it through MSC aren't visible from the computer if it connects later using 'Auto Detect', and vice-versa. As such, try switching the USB setting from one to the other and see if that helps. If it doesn't then I don't know, but my guess is that it will. ^_^;
