Question about Samsung LN-T4071F 40 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

TV won't turn off

I have a samsung ln-t4071f tv and when I hit the power button on the remote, the screen goes black but the blue light power indicator under the screen and the red power light on the side of the screen remains on.

I tried unplugging the tv but when I plugged the tv back in, both lights came back on. When I hit the power button again, the picture came back on.

I recently tried to adjust the settings (color, contrast, etc) so I am thinking that I triggered this when I changed the settings. I would appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks, Keith Martin

Problem solved. I opened the configuration menu, went to Setup, More, Light Effect, changed setting from "Always" to "In Watching TV".

Samsung LN-S4695D LCD WON'T TURN ON BUT POWER LIGHT IS ON ?

I would recommend you get a professional diagnosis. There is high voltage present in the set that can harm you. Being that you never messed with a TV, you could possibly cause more damage to your set. These flat panel TV contain sensitive circuitry. What you are describing sound like a fault with either the power supply or main board.

Blank screen Samsung LN-R409D, audio when turning on and off and blue light at power button in on position???

Hi there
Im afraid this sounds like a fault with the TV. Try turning it off at the wall for 3 minutes, and then with nothing plugged into the TV, turn it back on. If the problem persists contact the manufacturer.
Hope this helps

To replace the screen is going to cost about at least $500.00.
I will try to sell the tv as is for parts. You can probably get about $100.00 . Thats how much I buy them for.

This normally causes by failure of power supply board. Some time it causes by failure of inverter board, in this case you can see the picture moving on the dark screen as it has no back light.

Screen goes completely out.

when it blanks out, tuen the lights out in the room, and shine a flash light at the screen, see if you can see the picture, if you can, it is the inverter moard blamking out, thats the board that lights the back lights, if you cant, hit the input button on the remote, if the TV comes back with a picture, it is a problem with the main board, in paticular the componant input on the main board
