THe battery is a coin style with vertical tabs that solder on to the circuit board. It is unmarked. Is it a lithium and is it rechargeable? Can't find one in my electronics catalogs, ( Digikey,Mouser). The circuit board shows the outline for the battery, which side is plus and minus and the following is presented near this outline: LC(followed by a 3 or S,can't tell)...a space, then a solid filled triangle followed by LC-02V0
I used an AG13/357A/LR44 1.5V button battery. It works great. :)
My files show the TM-102 timer is no longer available.
I suspect that Westek would no longer have the schematic, and likely that timer design is defunct since I do not show another 6-button timer with same button arrangement, and maybe even the battery is no longer used.
If rechargeable battery has gone bad, then buy another timer for $10

SOURCE: I need the instructions for
I saw similar Westec timer at Target yesterday. Sears is supposed to sell Westec too. Buy timer and copy instructions.
Westec shows some manuals, but doesn't show TE55 product or manual for TE55
Other site reported problems with the TE55

I found manual for TE05, which might be similar

1) Westek TE06WHB is sold at Target in back of store near extension cords.
Lowes also sells identical timer under different brand and model number
You can buy a timer, and cut open side of package and slide out the instructions.
Scan instructions into your computer and then take timer and instructions back for refund.
2) Also open following link to identify timer for sure and download manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html#59377
Two different manuals show for product:

3) Since there is not enough space allowed in free answer to copy-paste entire manual, if you have difficulties, then add a comment with specific issue and I will answer if possible.
Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.
