Yes for this you both have to set workgroup name same .first connect the LAN cable to lan ports of yours...then in Network setting give manual ip addreess as 192.168.1.1 in one computer and in other as 192.168.1.2 (subnet mask would be same) .then u bath can access each other computer by sharing folder....

but you have to disbale windows firewalll

Laptop is showing that my wifi is picking up excellent service but when i try to surf each page shows " webpage may be temporarily down"

Hi,

Try connecting to known sites like Yahoo or Hotmail. If it shows the same message, kindly check your browser's internet connection setup.
If you are using IE:

1) Go to Tools->Internet Options.
2) Click the Connections Tab folder.
3) Click the LAN Settings button.
4) Make sure the Automatically detect settings is ticked.
5) Don't tick the Use automatic configuration script.
6) Don't tick the Use proxy server for your LAN for now.
7) Click OK. Then Click OK again.
8) See if you can surf to the website. if not, Do Step 1 to Step 5. Click Use proxy server for the LAN. You need to type the address and port number for this. You have to ask your internet provider for this or your System Admin person.

If you can surf to yahoo, then probably the website you are trying to surf is down.

Solution of error with yahoo 81003016

Hi,

Click Messenger tab. Make sure the program window is open.

Then, click Connection Preferences. It will open up a window for you to work on setting up your connection.

On the Connection options, you can either choose:
1. Connect directly to the internet. (This is the recommended setting if you never had connection problems.)
2. Connect via a proxy server. (Use this option if you are behind a firewall and know your proxy server settings.
From the Internet connection option, you can choose among these three–Dial-Up, Broadband (DSL/Cable) or High-speed (T1/LAN). Once you’re able to select all your options, click Apply then click OK.

You may try switching connection from Connect directly to the internet to Connect via a Proxy Server and choosing HTTP Proxy then click Apply. This should work for you.

Good luck.

How to use two connection at same time to increase bandwidth.

Technically, you ARE using both connections at once. The Mobile one is what's connecting you to the internet, but the LAN connection is just your " Local Area Network "

Basically, if you're on a network with other computers, you can use that network to transfer files between PC's or play games with those computers, whether or not you have an active INTERNET connection.

LAN problem possibly due to virus.

Hi,
I work over a 2 years in internet cafe. I was system administrator! The best way is to create clone's backup. I assume that machine is the same. Do fresh installation on one computer, when you finished create ghost of that computer and use it for further. And another thing, on your server go in manage device and setup permission and protocol for each machine. And be ware that your machine will always have some virus. It's impossible to protect 100%.
Regards and good luck
