Question about Panasonic Technics SL-1200MK2 Turntable

Song playing backward but table going foward with serato.

I'm a DJ and i use the SL-1200MK2's with Serato scrach live and a rane TTM56 mixer as well as my computer. The first table is perfect but the second one, as soon as I drop a song from the computer to it, the record plays normally but the song gets read backwards? The table got new RCA wires and is working fine a part from that. I've used my second set of tables (at the club) with all the same gear (Mixer, serato, needles and computer) and everything is fine??? What would be the wiring problem? Cause it's pretty much the only thing i can figure beeing wrong at that point? Help!

The RCAs seem to have been wired backwards... Meaning that the control vinyl is sending a reversed signal to the serato box... which means serato things it is going in reverse.... switch the RCAs from your deck to the serato box, regardless of their color.

Cant get a digital signal to run serato

It's not really a digital signal, per say. Its an analog representation of a digital signal. This is good because it's easier troubleshoot. The first thing I would try is check the ground wires. #1cause of Serato Traktor problems. If that's not it, play an analog record to see how it sounds. If you have a missing channel, clean the cartridge with a pencil eraser and inspect the stylus and try again. Restart your mixer and computer (this cycles the ground) and you should be good to go.
If not you may have bad cables that will have to be changed. See the thing about turntables is the audio signal never comes in contact with the turntables electronics. it goes from the needle through the arm and out the cables. The cartridge's signal is magnetic not line level so it needs good shielded cables. Perfect opportunity to upgrade the cheap cables from the manufacturer and you can internally ground the turntable at the same time Eliminate the annoying ground wire. It requires a bit of soldering, all amateur stuff. Youtube is filled with tutorials on changing cables and eliminating the ground wire. oh make sure you have a good shielded USB cable.

If this doesn't work I can think of more.
Give more secifics about your setup.

Serato does not recognise my technics turntable. The turntable is on and turning well but no response from serato. the arms in the serato do not move...help?

serato is a software to be used with an external soundcard it doesnt care what turntables you have. u have to a rane mixer or one that is serato capable in order to use it. then you have to go and link and sync your time codes

Computer not playing my technics table

More than likely the RCA cables need to be replaced. Torque, Serato, and all digital dj programs require a clear signal path coming from the source (turntable, cdj, etc). If it does not have a clear signal, or 1 side is louder than the other, it will not work.

You have to remember, these are analog turntables connecting to a digital system. The signal quality is different, and your RCA cables have to be prestine.

The following cables work very well for this type of configuration:

One cdj and one turntable

This is possible, by connecting your turntable to the Line Input on the serato box. Then just connect both to your LINE INPUT on your mixer, and set the controls on your Serato Software to LINE INPUT - NOT Phono.

Hey how come i cant use my loop features on my cdj800 with my serato?

It's the limitations of Serato. Because it's sampling in real-time, the signal cannot be manipulated by the CDJ800. Sorry, there is no way around this. Talk to Serato about this.

Problem

Make sure your ground wire is connected. I know Serato does not work properly if your ground wire is connected.

Also, make sure your running the connection from the Line Out of the Serato box into the LINE IN on your mixer. You can use the Phono Input also, but I generally tell people to use the line input to avoid any issues. Regardless of which input you use, make sure that your Serato software is either set to LINE or PHONO, otherwise it wont run properly.
