Dear assistant,
my toshiba satellite M40 is encountering a weird problem, when i turn the laptop on, the keyboard light turns on but the monitor shows nothing, till i shake the laptop for a minute or so then i see the toshiba welcome note, and then freezes again till i shake again , here it will either start windows OR shuts down. if windows starts there wont be any troubles of anykind, but if i try to shut down, the screen freezes at the shutting down. so mainly the problem is on booting and shutting down. there is an error message about toshiba power saver, after the " fatal error message" this problem began to occure
Hi! It appears that possibly your hrad drive isn't set properly in the caddy? with the laptop powered down and disconnected locate the hard drive cover pop out the two locating screws and carefully move the caddy/hard drive BEWARE as the drive has fragile pins at the opposite end where you opened, hopefully little sliding pressure should remove. Check the retaining screws around the caddy (You'll need a small torx/philips screw driver for this) if all tight replace gently.
If you are uncertain I would recommend a technician check it for you.
Good Luck!
