I always have to rinse and rub by hand before I use dishes from this washer. I could feel a film on them from day one. A Kitchenaid repair guy came to look, but didn't do anything other than tell me to turn the hot water for the house up exceptionally high. (How is this an "Energy Saver" dishwasher then?) He also tried to convince me that the problem might be that our dishes weren't greasy enough.

I recently found out that I was using way too much soap. I was told by the repair person to use no more than 2TBSP in the main compartment and not to put any in the extra one. He said if there are suds inside you are using too much soap, so maybe that will help.

I put dishwashing soap in my Miele dishwasher by mistake

oops hope ya didnt run it and it sudded up like crazy. to remove that soap sop up as much as possible with rags/paper towels and rinse detergent dispenser very throughly with COLD water, the cold water with rinses suds ,while hot water makes regualr non d/w soap suds worse, then place a cup up right as if you were going to drink from it in upper rack and fill with vinegar and run cycle. The vinegar will kill the suds.

Good luck,i hope this helps

Hard water scale build up

try to use tang breakfast drink to clean this up.
make sure your water is hot at Faust first. you may load d/w with glasses and dishes how ever don't put any pots or silver wear in because it may tarnish.
add about a cup full in the bottom of d/w and fill the soap cup up run though a long wash cycle

My dishwasher stiil has water in it when done why? nicks@onlyinternet.net

DEPENDS ON WATER LEVEL, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS SOME WATER LEFT AROUND THE OPENING IN THE BOTTOM AS THE WATER IS PUMPED UP INTO THE DRAIN AND THE WATER IN THE DRAIN LINE FALLS BACK INTO THE DISHWASHER. IF EXCESSIVE SUDS THEN THE PUMP WILL NOT PUMP SUDS, 'FULL OF AIR;

Housekeeper put dish washing soap in - machine is full of bubbles. How do I clean it out without flooding the kitchen?

Turn off the hot water supply to the DW. Take a pot or pan. Fill the DW tub with COLD water, pump it out. Repeat this COLD water and pump out several times until the suds are gone. HOT water only makes the suds worse and prevents the pump from expelling the water.

I stupidly put washing up liquid in my very old Bosch SPS 21/24 as i had run out of dishwasher tablets - a few bubbles leaked out but all seemd fine and now it makes all the right noises but nothing...

Take a shop vac and remove all the water and suds.
No shop vac...use a towel or sponge.
Then use a pot to manually fill the dishwasher with cold water. Set it to wash a few seconds then go to pump out setting.
Re-fill with cold water and repeat this process until the normal sounds return and the washer is clear of suds.
HOT water will not work. It only makes the suds worse.
COLD water only.
Repeat repeat repeat ubtil clear.

Suds coming out of the front

When you have suds rolling out of a dishwasher, you can assume that either that one of the dishes was loaded with liquid soap or that the dishwasher soap dispenser was filled with liquid, manual wash soap or laundry detergent.
After the mess is cleaned up, the quickest way to clean the dishwasher is to start up a new cycle, wait for the hot water to fill the dishwasher and just as the DW starts to pump the water through the spray arms (wash cycle) open the door and poor in two cups of white vinegar.
Hope this helps!

Dishwasher started leaking suds and water out of the bottom

Please reply with the manufacturer and model number of the dishwasher.
I doubt that you have done any lasting damage to your dishwasher. Recommend that you empty the DW, start the dishwasher with no detergent added. Select a quick cycle if it is available, but more than a rinse. As soon as the water fills and the wash cycle begins, open the dishwasher and add at at least 1 cup of White Vinegar and close the door.
Keep an eye on the unit to make sure the suds don't overwhelm you again. If it does, go to a store that rents carpet cleaners and by just the de-foamer bottle. Add one table spoon or so. The suds should get knocked down.
After problem is resolved: Recommend you switch to a brand name Washing powder like Electrosol or Cascade. Avoid gel or the tablets for all dishwashers.
Good Luck!

"clean" light is blinking

Check the following:
1. Is the overfill protection float able to move up and down
freely? Press down to release.
2. Be sure the water supply is turned on to the dishwasher.

3. Check for suds in the dishwasher. If foam or suds are
detected by the dishwasher sensing system, the
dishwasher may not operate properly or may not fill with
water.
Suds can come from:
1. Using the incorrect type of detergent, such as
laundry detergent, hand soap, or dish detergent for
hand washing dishes.
2. Forgetting to replace the rinse aid dispenser cap
after filling (or refilling) the rinse aid, or spilling rinse aid into the tub (rinse aid causes suds to occur).
3. Using an excessive amount of dishwasher detergent.

The dishwasher was full of soap suds but most of the water drain

Suds? If you use dishwashing detergent you shouldn't get suds. If a small amount of sink type dish soap is left on a dish before loading it into the dishwasher this can happen. I would use several rinse and drain cycles with the racks and dishes removed until the suds are gone.

Never use any type of liquid dish soap made for sinks. The same thing that makes suds in the sink will make even more in the dish washer.

Hope this helps!
