Re: Polaroid Flatscreen no sound

Most likely the headphone jack is bad because the only other possibility is the speakers but, I can't see both failing at the same time.

Normally, when headphones are plugged in, the TV speaker is automatically muted. To use the headphones, leave the TV volume at a normal level, and the speaker sound should stop when the headphones are plugged in.

I have asharp aquos 45in flatscreen tv it comes on and the picture is fine but i have no sound what can be the problem?

The sound can be muted or the sound is directed to a port that you don't use. The main board controls the sound, so if it's not muted or misdirected, then replace the main board.

My samsung televison tells me that there is a head phone in when there isn't which is a result of me not being able to hear sound through my tv speakers how do i fix this?

If you go to the menu, there should be a symbol for the headphones and a symbol for mute.
Make sure they are set the correct way around because the TV sound may be muted leaving the headphones live.
Hope this helps.

As an idea, I was thinking as I read your post, I thought that this would be an ideal application for a pair of "Wireless/Ired Headphones", you could plug these into the headphone socket, and then use these to hear your sounds, these units have a mute on board.
You could indeed wire it into, the unit going in through, the back of the, set. You could wire it up, but in reality, it would be better to use a third party device and that way would not compromise any warranty.

My polaroid tv 3200 has no sound.. the mute is off, the cables are plugged in correctly and just now has started to not hear the sound.

A quick and simple solution is to plug the tv via the audio/aux out phono 's to a amp or stereo with aux in,then run the sound through the amp/stereo.
The sound will be alot better than the speakers on the tv anyway.

How do I get headphones to work with my TV? o Connect the headphone cable to the headphone jack on the side of your TV. o The sound will be heard through both the headphones and on the TV speakers. o Press Mute to hear sound only through the headphones. o Use the volume buttons on the remote to adjust the volume level. o You must remember to press mute again to hear sound through speakers. It will not automatically come on when you unplug the headphones.

No sound through the headphones

The way the headphone jack works is:

plug your headphones in and then mute the television using the remote.

While the TV is muted you can still use the volume up and down controls to adjust the volume through the headphones. I find that having the volume at 60-75% is more than loud enough on the headphones.

Just be careful when you unplug the headphones and take the TV off of mute, if your volume levels are still turned up you will be in for a jolt :)

If your happy to remove the back casing of the the TV set.

Lay set face down on table with several towells laid out flat under it.
Undo all screws holding back on & lift it off you may need to remove tv stand to remove back.

Once back is off either locate speakers & unplug the leads from them remember to insulate the loose wires & tie them up out of the way.

Or trace wires from speakers to there plugs & sockets on main Pcb & unplug them & thats it.
Screw rear of set back on & ensure volume is set low or at zero.
