I have a slim samsung dlp HL-T4675S that I had just bought a year ago 9-11-07. It has gone bad this year around late November. Already have to replace something. Here is what I'm getting. Right now I have to have it unpluged b/c if i plug it in it will turn on by itself, in the process of being on I hear a noise around the bulb area "this is like a ziz ziz ziz while the green lamp light indicater flashes of and on. Then it will turn off by itself after about a minute. It will repeat this for approx 7 times and then all the lights will start flashing. So thats why I have it unplugged.
Samsung DLP rear projection--I turn on it has only sound, then a few seconds later it turns off and then turns back on and then off. Then stays off. It used to do this a couple times but then I would get picture and then it would stay on.

Sounds like you have a bad picture tube. More than likely the CRT could be shorted, which would cause the set to shut down. My first advise would be to power up the set with an isolation transformer with the voltage about 60% approx. 72 Volts AC, and monitor what happens when you increase the voltage slowly. If the set remains on at 60 -70 %, then when increased to 90 - 100% it shuts down, you have something drawing too much current ( which could be the CRT )
This is likely caused by voltage leakage which happens due to a build up of dust and other contaminants that make its way into the inside of the set.
1. Unplug the set for 4 hours or overnight and leave unplugged.
2. Remove the back cover and vacuum off any excessive dust and dirt.
3. Using a damp cloth, clean around the neck of the picture tube where the large wire connects (this is the main power wire). Wait about 10 minutes and then re-wipe.
You may find that you need to repeat the process a number of times before the problem will be fixed entirely.
Zenith TV troubleshooting
Try a "hard restart", which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics to a certain extent.

Hope these suggestions help you out.
