Hey Jimshaw, I need to know whether your computer is a laptop or a PC.

If it's a laptop I need the make and model (i.e. HP Pavilion dv5z, Compaq Presario CQ50Z, etc etc.) If it's a PC aka Desktop, I also need the same info, unless it's something you or a buddy made with off the shelf parts. In that case I would need the FCC code of the motherboard, and that usually sits between the PCI slots at the bottom left of your motherboard as it's sitting upright. Big white mix of letters and numbers usually about 6-10 digits.

I've dealt with issues like this for quite sometime and I am hoping I can help!!

Most of the drivers should work on laptops based on dv5z chipset models. Good luck !

I want change vista to windows xp in my thoshiba satellite u 300-153

First, you'll need to either purchase a genuine copy of Windows XP (these are getting very difficult to find, because Microsoft has withdrawn this software from marketing; so, you'll need to find a small computer-store that may still have a copy on its shelves). Or, start with a "non-genuine" copy of Windows (and hope that it's not already virus-infected) and then when it is detected as being "non-genuine", then use your credit-card to purchase a "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation" kit, to convert your "bootleg" version into a "genuine" version.

Then, you'll have to be aware that Toshiba may _NOT_ have created device-drivers for your computer for Windows XP. It's possible that some of your components (wireless, video, sound, network) will _NOT_ work, due to the "missing" device-drivers.

You'll be much further ahead if you upgrade to Windows 7, which addresses many of the issues that were problematic in Windows Vista.

No sound device

? mark means no sound driver install or errors in Device Manager. u can check ur mother board cd room or can search ur audio driver in web or below may be ur answer

Question: Where do I locate motherboard sound drivers?
Answer: Users who have motherboards with on-board audio (often with VIA, Realtek, or C-Media chipsets) may have issues with their audio or AC'97 errors in Device Manager. Often this is caused because the operating system has been reinstalled and the motherboard chipset drivers are not installed. To resolve this issue try following the below steps.
Let Windows redetect drivers
If you have not recently reinstalled Microsoft Windows it's possible that your audio drivers are simply corrupt. Open Device Manager and remove all devices under "Sound, video and game controllers" and any "Other devices". Once removed reboot the computer and let Microsoft Windows re-detect the audio drivers.
Motherboard chipset drivers
Reinstalling the motherboard chipset drivers will usually resolve this issue. If your computer came with a Motherboard CD, install the chipset drivers from the CD and the sound drivers if also available on the CD.
If you do not have a motherboard CD, obtain the motherboard chipset drivers from the motherboard manufacturer.
Sound card drivers
If after installing the motherboard chipset drivers you continue to have issues install the sound drivers. We suggest you download the sound drivers from the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer.
A listing of motherboard manufacturers and their drivers can be found on our motherboard chipset drivers page.

Actually, Windows XP detects drivers on its own.

But if you are unable to have it done,

try to get the drivers at
