Check the two green pico fuses F9A04 and F9A05 on the "Center Board" if either of those two fuses are blown then convergence ICs are the reason its shutting down with a 22 error code.The pico fuses look just like resistors but dont have color bands and they will be bright green.
Usually in these sets the 2-2 error code is a shorted convergence IC----they are protected in most models (don't know your exact model number) by two pico fuses(they do not look like glass fuses and are usually in the power supply--little green parts that look like small resistor--amperage is marked on them and usually they are 5 amp) the fuses can be checked like any other type of fuse---if one or both of these are open the set will detect no voltage to the convergence chips and shut the set down. If you locate the convergence chips look for any discolored or burnt resistors around them----in most models they are light blue in color and marked 3.9 ohms---if any are white in the middle they are gone---

With the TV power cord plugged in, press the 'INPUT and 'MENU' buttons at the same time -- use the buttons on the front of the TV, NOT the buttons on the remote; a diagnostic Error Code Operational Check will begin, utilizing the 'POWER ON' LED (the green 'POWER ON' indicator light).
There will be a pattern of two sets of flashes, with a pause in bewteen flashes; this sequence of flashes will be repeated a total of five times.
The Error Code designations are listed below:
Error Code Description
12 No eror has occurred.
21 X-Ray Protect circuit.
22 Short Protect circuit.
23 Horizontal Deflection failure.
24 Vertical Deflection failure.
I replaced the pico fuses and the convergence IC's. fuses poped right away code 22 . Further inspection of the board showed the coolant had leaked out of the center projector and fried the board. Not willing to pay $300. Passed it on to someone else
look on the center circuit board and you will see two green Pico fuses they look like resistors but they dont have any bands on them . They will have F9A04 and F9A05 on the board next to them. Check with a ohms meter if those fuses are open you will ned new convergence ICs. Thats the first thing to check are those two pico fuses when you get a 22 error on your model.
Check the center board for two green 5amp Pico fuses F9A04 and F9A05 if those two picos are blow, replace both STK392-570 convergence ICs on that same board and the set will be repaired. Fuse F9A05 will read open in circuit but F9a04 wont so its best to lift one side of those two pico fuses out of circuit to check them. (* % of the time a 22 code in that chassis its the ICs having shorted and it will blow those two picos. You can get replacement parts at the following link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
ok, the problem with short detect.... unsolder all convergance ic's and try to turn it on. does it come on? if no, check all diods in the power suppy area. check h-output unsolder all convergance ic's and try to turn it on.
does it come on? also might have a vertical ic. mmm, check all fuses including the solder in pico fuses. beleave they are sold green color. when i get one that comes in they have 1 or 2 blowed pico fuses and that means convergance ics need replaced along with fuses. good luck!!
