Have you tried using the screen calibration command? Press the Wrench symbol, then the Display symbol and then Calibrate screen. Press the dots as it tells you to and you should now have a calibrated touchscreen.

I was having a similar problem with my Garmin Nuvi 670. The screen would freeze and would become unresponsive, it turns out that the problem was the metal case surrounding the touch screen was slighlty bent in, touching the screen causing my GPS touch screen to become unresponsive. To fix the problem I took a mini flathead screw driver and CAREFULLY slightly pried the metal case that surrounds the touch screen away from the screen and now my Garmin and I are best friends again!!! Hope this will help with you touch screen problems on your Garmin Nuvi 670.

I have a similar problem with my nuvi 660. I discovered a temporary fix is to hold down the power button for 2-3 minutes during power up and the recalibration process is started.

Hello, my Garmin 670 froze up on me and the touch pad does not work. I reset the unit several times without luck!! Can you help? Thank You Frank

You might just need to recalibrate the screen. Start by getting to the SETTINGS > DISPLAY page. Select RECALIBRATE and follow the directions.

Now, if the screen doesn't respond at all, you'll probably have to arrange for service. Contact Garmin Support for additional help with your nuvi 670 below:

I hope this helps!

The screen needs to be replaced. This is a common problem with the newer production run SHARP touchscreens. Please see this link for more info:
