Before you've remove the dvd rom try to check also the connector cable of the dvd rom. Try to use another cable if you have. maybe the defect is the cable. Just try to use another cable.

Matshita DVD-Rom in my Lenovo 3000 N100 is not detectable.

Note Before you use this method, uninstall all CD or DVD writing or recording programs. Guided Help can delete the corrupted registry entries for you. However, deleting those registry entries might cause problems with any other CD or DVD writing or recording programs that are installed on your computer. Uninstalling these programs before you start will help you avoid any problems that removing the registry entries might cause. You can reinstall these programs after the problem is resolved.

1. Start the Registry Editor.
- Click on Start -> Run. Type regedit.
2. On the Registry Editor, expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
3. Expand System then expand CurrentControlSet
4. Expand Control then expand Class
5. Under Class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
6. Look for UpperFilters and LowerFilters.
- You might only find one of them, just delete it.
7. Just hit yes on "Are you sure you want to delete this value?"

Restart your computer. After you have done this, try to access the CD or DVD drive. If you can access the CD or DVD drive, and if you do not receive an error message, the problem is resolved. You can reinstall your CD or DVD writing or recording software.

If this is helpful, would appreciate if you rate this.

Thanks, ArnWuLF.

Unable to burn cd's

First of all you try to burn the cd with a valid cd burner, uninstall the already existing cd writer and try to install again.
In case of laptop you can try the company's own cd burner.
Else... The main problem occurs when the seating of the driver is not proper.
You can remove the driver yourself if you are comfortable with or else you have to give to the authorised service center to remove and reseat the driver again....

On my sony laptop the Matshita UJDA730 DVD/CDRW cannot be found. Windows cannot find the hardware divice code 41?

Log in to your bios by pressing F2 or F10 (key for going in to bios may change look while you boot up) and see in your bios information DVD rom is detected (IDE devices) if not enable it from the bios then Windows will automatically detect it - if not try to replace the drive with a new one.

Try download Everest! Is a software that make a list of all hardware in your computer, so you can view the manufacturer and in the site to do download the drivers.
Ps.: Uninstall all previous instalations that you make to this hardware.
