Blue Screen in TV Mode

I've had this TV for less than a year. It was a Christmas gift from Mom, who was obvioiusly bargain shopping. The TV mode has always had a craptacular, washed out display, though the DVD picture is surprisingly good. Not sure why there's a difference.

But here we are three weeks before Christmastime a year later, and the TV mode will only display a blue screen with (occasional) sound. Is there any way to reset this thing? Reboot it? It's not good enough to pay to repair. Any idea besides the trash can, or use as a DVD or computer monitor only? Thanks.

I have an Audiovox FPE1506DV with the same problem: it plays DVDs okay, but when I try to watch TV, it only shows a blue screen, but sometimes you can hear the sound. Cable input is fine.

When going through the Menu option in TV mode, the "Display" option is disabled; you cannot select it with the remote.

SOLUTION: I unplugged the device for about 5 minutes, plugged it back in, and it has been working fine ever since. It's a very strange problem, but rebooting by UNPLUGGING (not just powering down) seems to have fixed it.

Iwas having the same problem.  If you can use the remote, push menu, then I believe factory reset, then yes, it should then go to a white screen, then press source until you have the source you want and it should then work.  Mine did this for many months hen a power surge cooked it.  Trying to find a new motherboard for mine.  Apparently they are very sensitive to power surges.  Good luck.

How to emove the demo on screen ?

Removing Your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode

First, confirm your TV is in Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode:

1. Press the INFO button on your remote control. A list of settings appears.
2. See if the Picture Mode setting is set to Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

There are three methods for removing your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode. If the first method does not work, try the second or third method.
Method 1

To remove your TV from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode, follow these steps:

1. Press the Volume button on the side panel of your TV. If your TV does not have a side panel, press the Volume button on the front panel. The TV displays the volume bar.
2. Press the Menu button on the side panel of your TV for about seven seconds. Again, if your TV does not have a side panel, press the Menu button on the front panel. If Dynamic or Dynamic Mode is displayed on the screen, your TV has been removed from Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Note: You may want to press the INFO button on your remote again to confirm you TV is no longer in Shop Mode or Store Demo Mode.

Method 2

1. Press the Volume button on your remote.

Method 3

1. Press and hold the Volume button on your TV. The TV displays the volume bar.
2. As you are holding the Volume button, press the Menu button on the side panel of your TV for about seven seconds.

Tv does not respond to channel changes

The simpliest solution is always the best - I called the cable service provider; they reported an outage and quickly remedied the situation - but also tried to sell me their digital TV package. Thanks for your response.
