I changed my bobbin thread and now my machine won't pickup the bobbin thread. I've changed spool of thread, bobbin and cleaned but still won't pick up the tread.Brothers model LS-2125

HI Elizabeth.
Found this on the internet.
There could be several things that could cause the machine not to pick up the bobbin thread.

  • The upper thread could be tangled.
Remove the thread completely from the machine.
The correct size spool cap should be used for the size of the thread spool.
Re-thread the machine according to the directions in the manual.

  • Remove the bobbin and make sure the bobbin is threaded properly in the shuttle race.
Remove any loose threads or lint in the shuttle race.
One Point Advice Installing a bobbin into a bobbin case
  • You could be holding the needle thread too tight.
Hold the thread lightly to keep the end from going down into the shuttle.
  • The needle could be thread incorrectly.
Thread the needle eye from the front to the back.
  • The needle could be bent or improperly inserted.
Install a new needle with the flat side of the needle facing the back.

The bottom (bobbin) thread will not come up when (the top thread will not not pick up the bottom thread. I have re=threaded several times and re-installed the bobbin thread many times also.

There are several things that can cause this, but essentially the hook is not catching the tread loop when the needle goes down. Sometimes the machine has gotten out-of-time, most frequently it's from lint buildup in the bobbin carrier assembly or a bent needle. Try a new needle first and make sure you have it inserted properly in the machine with the eye facing the bobbin. Most consumer machine needles have a flat that only goes in the needle holder one way, but some universal and specialty needles don't have that flat. If the needle isn't the culprit, have it cleaned professionally. Most machine ailments are resolved by a proper cleaning.

Manual for the wimsew thread not picking up around the bobbin

Try installing a brand new needle. If it is still not picking up the bobbin thread, then the needle/hook timing make be off. Take it for service.

When trying to thread the machine the needle tread stays on top and does not connect with the bottom thread

Be sure a brand new needle has been installed. Bent/damaged needles will sometimes not connect with a bobbin thread.

Remove the upper thread. RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Check that the bobbin thread has been loaded properly and that there is at least a 4-6" tail on both threads.

Hand turn the handwheel and see if it will pick up the bobbin thread. If it doesn't, there's a good chance the needle/hook is out of time. Take it for service.

Model 7043 Imperial. how do I pick up bobbin tread?

Install a brand new needle--make sure the flat side is facing the correct direction. Remove all the thread. RAISE the presser foot and rethread everything from the beginning. Make sure the bobbin is threaded properly.

Hand rotate the handwheel one full turn and see if it picks up the bobbin thread. If not, make sure you are using the correct needles.

Open the bobbin door and while watching the needle action, watch when the needle comes down, is it looping to catch the bobbin thread? If it's not, then it could be a needle/hook timing problem.

Hyundai 8 stitch sewing machine confused beginner!?????

Not familiar with your machine, but an important suggestion for all sewing machines:

ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread. If you did not do this, remove the top thread completely from the machine and start over by RAISING the presser foot and following the thread path. (Do NOT miss any thread guides or thread any out of order!)

Lower the presser foot and thread the needle. (The top thread will pull through the needle ONLY if the presser foot is raised!) RAISE the presser foot and pull at least 5 inches of thread through the needle. Insert your fabric. Lower the presser foot. Hold the thread tail gently in your left hand and with the right hand manually turn the handwheel one rotation. The needle should pull the bobbin thread up through the fabric.

While still holding the top thread tail, "sweep" under the presser foot with a stiletto, scissors, a nail file (anything that will fit under the presser foot) to pull the remaining bobbin thread tail above the fabric. Grab both thread tails and pull them under the presser foot toward the back of the machine. Now, you are ready to take your first stitch.

You can gently hold those thread tails while you slowly power the machine to take the first couple of stitches on your fabric.

Top thread keeps getting wrapped around bobbin case on LX-3125

You should hold the end of the thread coming through the needle until the thread has grasped the bobbin thread.
