Amp works but green power light dims in and out and amp will turn off if i hit the amp it will turn back on but only for a min

hello
it mite be 1 or 2 things if the light is dimin an your hit it then there mite be a loose wire that hooks up to that green light so you would have to remove the cover an see if theres any loose wires it will take alittle time but if you want it to work then you shhould try , also check your speacker wire make shore that it is not crossing anywhere because that will make the amp turn off to.

Hi, The blue light temporarily comes on like it is going into protect mode and then shuts off. I do not hear the relay click. I measured the input voltage and it is at 12v and when the power is switched...

hi ill try helping .
protect is something that stops ur amp from blowing , so there is somthing melted or speacker wires touching inside box , speackers could be blown an it some times is in the speacker itself ,but there is something because i have a 600watt sony with 2 10 clarions an it hits an the voltage reads almost 13 an stays when i turn it on hope this helps a little

How do i wire in a Zn-4088 Xlopd sub/amp?

I also bought one and it came with no instructions either.

Should be pretty simple but if you want to control the On/Off of it by the head unit you will need to use a relay,

I need help?

id check remote signal with a test light and also if there is a High pass or Low pass filter either on the head unit's settings or the Amp's controls

if your amp or head unit has a High pass filter setting enabled that would explain no bass being sent to your speakers,

if you are using a separate crossover to send the bass signal check those settings too..

if all else fails
test another amp on your system (if it works that would discard problems with the rest of the system's output)

HI Skimmie

Beleive it or not, you probably need a bigger amp for the levels you are trying to acheive. If you regularly crank it and the amp gets driven to clipping, the square wave produced when the amp runs out of steam will burn the voice coils in your speakers. Best solution is to be sure you are delivering CLEAN power, not distorted or overdriven. It can be a bit hard to tell at high levels. Putting an oscillascope on your speaker outputs and check for clipping at the highest level you run is a good way of checking. Then set your max levels for that so that you cannot overdrive the amp. Clean undistorted power wont burn your speakers.

If you have variable LPF or a crossover, check the frequencies you are using also., Cross them over too high, and you will cook the voice coils also
