Question about Whirlpool GEW9250 Electric Dryer
We had the same problem.
HOW IT WORKS: When the dryer door opens/closes it pushes or releases a little knob inside the door (on ours it is in the top left position). When it is released the light inside comes on and the dryer will not start, it will show panel lights but will beep if you try to start it. When it is pressed (when the door is closed), the light turns off and it will let you turn the dryer on.
Being that the knob was not working properly, there was no communication when the door was opened/closed to tell it to turn on the light or let the dryer start.
SOLUTION: Purchase a new knob, part number 8519323 (also part number 8283288). This comes with both the knob and the wiring, but we only had to replace the knob itself.
REPLACING KNOB: It is easily removed from the outside.
1. Open dryer door.
2. Press (squeeze) the left/right sides of the knob and pull it out.
3. Put in the new knob and press into place.
It was as easy as this for us anyway. The part was approximately $38.

Try to unplug the dryer for 5-10 minutes this should reset the board. if not take off the bottom panel and test the resistance of the thermistor ( the tech sheet is in the bottom there or up top)

SOURCE: Won't start, beeping sounds
sounds like the door switch might be an issue,, does teh tub light go on /off as you open the door??? if not try manually pushing the switch in a few times.
