Question about PC Laptops

1 Answer

My sony vaio notebook VGN-CR115E's audio keeps cutting in & out. I'm taking an online course & usually have to restart & restart until I get sound. Then, GOD forbid I put iTunes on pause, often I come back to no sound again!!!!!!!!!!!! I've checked my system for an updated driver from an online source & it says it's got the latest. I've checked speakers, I've even backed to the last date sound worked, to no avail...this really sucks that I can't count on my $1300 laptop!!!!!!!!!

First try this, uninstall your present sound driver, and install the new one that you downloaded. Also make sure that you are not getting a conflict message. It would help to know what type of sound card you are using.

I need more info.

Hi ericamcmurre,

If your driver is not updated you can download the driver on Sony Webiste. Driver for Windows 7 is not on the list you can try to download the driver for Windows Vista. Click here. If the driver wont install it means that it is not supoorted by Windows 7.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I have a vgn-ns140e 32 bytes sony vaio notebook but it mark me and DRIVER error OF THE CPI/SNY5001WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER?

Hi, do you mean the ACPI/SNY5001 device? And do you have Vista or XP installed?
1)This is the Vista driver you need:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNNS140E&upd_id=3786&os_id=28

2)For XP this is the driver:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNNS140E&upd_id=3936&os_id=7

You might need to install it via Device Manager
Right click on the ACPI\SNY5001 device->Update driver... and point it to your files where you downloaded the driver – it will find the INF and install sucessfully.
Regards,
Purito
