Return key doesnt work properly

I have an intermittent problem with the carriage assembly when i hit return. if i get past the half-way point the carriage will only return to the half way point. it wont go all to the left margin, and sometimes when i get all the way to the right margin it wont return at all. it just goes down to the next line, however, if i turn it off and then back on again it will reset to the left margin.

Do you hear any grunting noises when you tab or return? If so, then DickyO is right. A few drops of oil on the silver support shaft should help. Also, clean the shaft after oiling then apply a couple of more drops.

Try putting a little light oil on the silver shaft that the printer slides on, WD40 works well.

Try spraying a little WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on if that doesn't do it you will have to spray the bearings on the carrier motor located in the R. rear corner inside the case.

After typing first line, hit the return key. The carriage would not return to the far left margin...it only moved 12 or so spaces to the left.

The carrier slides on a silver shaft that is about 1/2" thick spray some WD40 on the shaft, if that doesn't do it you have to get some on the carrier motor bearings located under the case in the R. rear corner.

Coronomatic 2200 carriage return stops advancing

It sounds like you are coming up against your right margin. By hitting release you are merely bypassing the margin. You might try resetting your right margin by clearing it all the way to the right side of the carriage first then resetting it to where you want it.

Carriage return problem

If it returns with the express key the latching mech. on the rt. side is probably gummy. Take off the case, get some WD40 and spray the mechinism that latches the ret on the rt. side below the platen.

Carriage Return doesn't work. Everything else works fine; but it will not return the carriage when the return key is used.

Return sticks

Try putting a few drops of light oil on the shaft that the carrier rides on and the pulleys that the cables are on (WD40 works well) also look for debris under the carrier.
