Did you try changing the batteries? If so, try unplugging the mouse receiver and plugging it back in. If that doesn't do anything, how long have you used the mouse? My mouse skips clicks because of my normal use over the years. Might just be the wear and tear to the little clicker button, but try changing batteries.
To change mouse settings in XP for left-handed users: Click Start and click Control Panel. Double click the Mouse applet. Verify that the Buttons tab is selected. Select the Switch primary and secondary buttons option is selected. Click OK.
Please check whether there are any buttons on the side of the mouse you may be clicking these at the same time as you are single clicking.
You could also try going into Control Panel --> Mouse
Try Slowing down the double click speed
If that doesn't work try speeding it up
Another problem with a laser mouse is it jumps around the screen randomly if there is a pattern on your mouse mat or desk, or if either are too shiny or even glass as the laser reflects incorrectly on these type of surfaces.
you have two micro switches that wear-out quickly. try going to. Control panel. Click on Devices. Then on Mouse try switching your right button to left button on button options. try hitting restore defaults. Make sur your remote sending unit is plugged in and the lie is on steady.
good luck Joe_Rex
