Question about HP Photosmart C3180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My HP Photosmart C3180 won't print

Please help! I replaced my ink cartridges a couple of days ago, and my printer hasn't worked since. I can scan and make copies, but whenever I try to print anything, it doesn't. I click on the printer icon and it says "in queue". I hit "Restart" and it still doesn't go. I did try puttin the old ink cartridges back in to see if that was the problem, but it still didn't work.I have Windows Vista, and I re-downloaded the software and driver, hoping this might work. It didn't. It prompted me to connect the USB for the printer and turn it on, the problem was the printer was already connected and on. Was I supposed to disconnect it before I downloaded? It wouldn't allow me to click the next button because it wasn't recognizing that the printer was connected. I had to click the "connect device later", and it allowed me to complete the download. I unplugged the printer, plugged it back in, still nothing. Can anyone give me any advice? I'm a techno-idiot,so simple terms and instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I suggest you unplug you printer, and then remove your ink cartridges. Pick up your printer and smash it against the wall. Then go buy another one because clearly that one was a piece of ****.

I have an HP Photosmart C3180 printer color ink issue. Instead of printing yellow its printing pink. I've cleaned the head multiple times and the ink cartridge is brand new. Please advise. Thanks!


If what you're saying is still the result after cleaning everything up, there must already be something wrong with the printhead because the printheads are the one's that are responsible for the mixture of the ink cartridges.
Try calling HP Tech Support. They might still be able to replace the printheads for you.

Failure of Printer to Print Color


Try using a new HP ink cartridge. I had the same problem with a printer I purchased off of CraigsList even though the ink level was good. I installed a new color HP ink cartridge and it printed without a problem.

Printing with one Cartridge?


ufortunatley you will have to have both cartridges in the printer for it to function there is no way for you to disable the chartridge check that the printer doe's on power up

Want to know where u put the photosmart ink in printer


Hello,

Open the print cartridge door. Make sure the print carriage moves to the right. If it does not move to the right, turn the device off, then turn it back on again. IMPORTANT: The device must be turned on to insert cartridges.

You can see the location and proceedure to change the ink cartridges on page 14 of the manual (found here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00694908.pdf). Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words <grin>.

Will not print black


Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came withthe printer. When the software program asks you to connect theprinter to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

I have a hp c3180 photosmart


Printer manufacturers include chips inside the catridges.When the same cartridge is used the printer reads the chip and finds that you have refilled the cartridge and returns the error. The simplest way to get around is to have have 3 empty cartridges and rotating them one after the other. This way you can fool the printer and get around the check!
