Question about LG Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

Erratic microwave timer dial

I have an LG microwave with a mechanical timer dial, since I don't like the digital type. After a few months of use, it has developed a serious problem: sometimes when the timer is set to a short time, e.g. 2 minutes, the dial will spontaneously turn clockwise to a longer setting - 30 minutes or more! Once when I was out of the room, this happened and the food caught fire - smoke was everywhere and a serious house fire could have resulted if I had not switched it off, since the dial did not appear to be returning to the 'off' position.

The LG microwave I have is MS-2327B. This model is sold in the Middle East, where I work. It may not be on sale in the US.

(Claudia Cooper - poster of the above problem: erratic timer dial).

I really hope you can advise on this problem

You can visit LG's site here and pick your region, then your country.

Then look in the red strip near the center top for the Service Centers link.

They may sell parts in case you or a friend want to do it yourself, but if not, they certainly can do the repair for you.

If it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty, I would think.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have a GE sensor microwave oven. Tried to heat food and sensor eror came on. Everything is running even the timer but no sound but the timer is running. Cant this be reset pls help

HELLO.

This is the solution to reset your microwave.

1 Pressing the clock button will display the time. You can also use this to know what time it is while cooking.

1. Set the clock by pressing the "Clock" button.

2. Turning the dial on the GE sensor microwave oven will display the hour of the day. Once you have found the correct hour, press the dial in.

3. Again, turn the dial to set the minutes of the day. When this is completed, you will need to press the dial in again on the GE sensor microwave oven.

4. When the time and minutes are set, turn the dial again for a.m. or p.m. Then you will need to press the dial in to save the settings.

5. Press the "Start" button to allow the clock to begin on the GE sensor microwave oven.

Thanks.

The dial selector on the GE Convection/Microwave PVM1790 is pushed to set the selection. After two months, our dial selector "sticks" and requires a hard push (or two) to enter the selection. I...

Dont play gemes with it, or it will cost you a lot of money, Get GE out to repair it. Those dial controlls can be dificult so since it is warrantied get it replaced, it shouldnt do this to you this soon. They will probably have to replace the whole main Circuit Board, Timer Board.

Cannot turn on the microwave oven. Getting E-10

E-10 = Control Board fault

This is usually associated to the main control circuit board. When this develops a fault it will quite simply disable the microwave. It can however be triggered by other less serious faults, for example the door switch can produce an E-10 error although this is rare. If it simply is not powering up then it is more than likely the main control board and needs to go to an LG repair centre to be properly repaired.

Hope this helps
