AUX inputs I am trying to hook my ipod into the aux inputs in the back, but it won't play. I clicked function because the manual said i had to go through that to turn them on, but there wasn't a "aux" under function. Does anyone know how to get them to work?

I cannot switch to either aux inputs on my deh 6800. When I looked in the manual, the picture is different than my player. There was a disclamer saying controls are subject to change without notice. I belive they changed the unit and did not update the manual.

Turn the ignition key to on or accessory position, turn the stereo off, then hold the function key for a couple seconds, the stereo will turn on and you scroll through the menu with the left and right arrow buttons and change settings with the up and down buttons

Are you hooking into the right spot? Crutchfield.com has some specs on this CD player: » front auxiliary input (Note: this input takes a nonstandard, 2.5mm sub mini jack) » three sets of preamp outputs » high-and low-pass filters for improved speaker performance » iPod-ready (CDIB100 adapter required) if you're hooking to the back, that sounds like Aux OUTputs, and the input is on front.

My daughter has an Iwantit ipod speaker model IW900 and it works/sounds fine with her ipod usind the dedicated ipod connector. On the the back of the speaker there is an Aux in socket. She would like...

It took me a while to figure this one out. Firstly plug your device in to the aux socket and play some music so you can hear when it's correctly switched over. Turn on the iwantit using the switch at the back then press the play button once, you should see the lights on the buttons go brighter. Now press the play button again, this time holding it down for exactly 3 seconds. When you release the button you should be in aux mode and you should hear your music playing. Hope this helps, it took me about an hour of faffing around before I finally figured it out.

There is a auxiliary button on the sony cdx-m8800. Is there a way to hook up an IPOD? The stereo also has MP3 written on the inside face. Thanks

Contrary to the below Expert's testimony, the UK CDX-M880 has a REAR AUX connector that will enable you to play your iPod through your car's stereo.

You will not be able to control the ipod's interface through the radio. You will have to use the control on the iPod .

You require a Male 3.5mm extension cable like the following...

a5e60c6.jpg A 4-6 foot length is recommended, as the cable will need to be routed from behind the radio to a place your iPod can be easily manipulated.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Aux for ipod

Make sure this is connected to an Aux Input and NOT an output. You did not mention what manufacturer you have for a head unit, so I'll take a guess.
Is is Pioneer? If so, with the radio off, you'll need to either hold down the "source" button or the "func" button. Scroll to the "AUX 1" or "AUX 2" function and then change it from "off" to "on". Then press source and it should be active.
If it is another brand, you'll need to do a similar process of going into the set-up menu and turn on the aux function. This should enable the feature.
Other than that, the operation manual for your radio can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
Hope this was helpful.
