Problem just started with loading a dvd. Some dvd's load and play with no problem while others just spin (no unusual noise) with the LOADING indicator highlighted on the front. After a minute or so, the spin stops and the dvd light comes on on the front panel. I checked to insure that parental guidance was off thniking possibly that this may have had something to do with the random loads an also have blown air into the unit hoping to remove any dust. Neither resolved the problem. Since this only happens on certain dvd's, I have run out of options thinking that some of the newer dvd's have a configuration unreadble by the unit. The unit was purchased in 2002. Any help or guidance will greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Re: Some DVD's load, others not
Does the DVD that are not loaded are original DVD?
If they are not maybe your DVD doesnt know to read does new formats.
DVD players become old very fast since every few monthes there are new DVD formats like: xVid, Divx, new and etc.

Dear Lesley! It looks, like your DVD lens might get contaminated with dust and/or dirt, which is being picked up off DVDs. Let's try to load music CD, instead or DVD. If it loads well, I will suggest, that your DVD player is at fault and you must give up using it. External basic DVD players are quite inexpensive and easy to connect to your TV. But: if no CD, nor DVD load, the solution might be much simpler: use lens cleaner CD with brushes. good ones might even have a special fluid, which applied to brushes(alcohol based). Just load it into your TV's player and follow audible directions. After couple attempts, your lens should be clean enough to play DVDs. Please, don't try to use any "ear swabs", instead. The lengths is not long enough, plus it may damage load mechanism or get stuck inside. I've seen such a cases lately. Good luck, Thank you, Alex.
With the power turned off, open the DVD Player, and
then open the top where you load the DVD into the player. Locate the
and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that
moves the laser
diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end
of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward
position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then
back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through.
This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the
music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a
again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a
customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This
solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most
portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this
solution it might work for you.
I don't have a solution at this time. I have the same DVD player and mine stopped working this past weekend. It is doing the same thing as yours. I opened the case and loaded a disc and watched the mechanism. The disc won't spin. if you tap the disc it will start spinning and load and start playing. I thought I had fully fixed it. It will load most times but now the video and audio stutters as if the discs is spinning at varying rates.
