I just got my Fugi 5200HD camera for Christmas. It was knocked over last night while at my sons Basketball game. Now I can only take one picture and then it says Lens Control Error. Can I fix this on my own or do I need to have it repaired. In that case am I better off sending it back for a new one?

i havbe the same problem. it takes pictures fine, like if i set it to long period shooting, it will keep taking pictures, but the minute i release the shutter button and it stores the pics, it has the lens control error on my finepix s2000hd. it fell out of my hands a very short distance onto our tile floor and now it is really annoying because it also takes forever to turn on and off, also if i look on the bottom right side of the screen, it apears that the shutter itself or the ccd or something is off center and it has a bit of the zoom lens in view which wont go away until i zoom in past that. help please

Lens is struck

* Carefully inspect around it for dirt or debris

* If you see any dirt or debris around the lens, use canned air to gently blow it away

* After removing dirt and debris, turn the camera on and off

This should work
Hope this helps .
If your problem still continues you need to take to service center .

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

Zoom error

It sounds as though your lens is sticking while trying to extend. Check the lens to see if it binds. Also look at the retracted lens and see if the center portion is properly centered or is cocked to one side and out of alignment.
Once your camera is working properly, as you say it does at times, hold the camera with the lens pointed downward and run the zoom in and out several times to see if there is dirt caught between the lens cylinders. Sometimes that will work any debris out.

Images are blurred

Blurred images can have different reasons. Greasy lens, camera shake or focus error.
You can clean a greasy lens with a lens-cleaner solution and lens-paper.
Camera shake will (most likely) only occur on images taken without the flash. Most likely there will be a warning on the display if risk of shake. it's a hand with an "!". Focus error will usually also give a warning in the display.

I am looking for a lens cap that will fit a Fuji Finepix S2000HD digital camera

let me just say that fuji sells the products but doesn't stock replacement parts.. i contacted fuji and they set me an email to call the 800 number. called and they refered me to another 800 number and then they in turn refered me back to the original 800 number. so if anyone is looking for a lens cap don't waste you're time.. they don't carry them..
