Question about HP DeskJet 812c InkJet Printer

Noise and blinking lights and printer appears frozen

My printer makes a loud noise as if something may be loose when I turn it on. The noise comes from the right side of the printer where the blinking lights both come on. I have disconnected the printer and reconnected.

Prior to this problem, I had sent several pages to the printer and am wondering if I overloaded it. I immediately cleared the documents to be printed, but it is still making this noise and just blinks.

When I try to print something It will blink the orange out of paper light and I have paper. It also makes this noise like gears grinding together hard.

Very same problem with sequentially flashing lights and loud grinding noise from rollers. Each time after a successful one page print, the orange out of paper light comes on, necessitating the whole merry-go-round all over again!

My Canon MG8120 all-in-one makes a loud noise when copying (not when printing). How do I fix it?

Dear
from the question I understand, the scanner move to right and during return it starts noise.

The problem with scanner assembly, It might be dust accumulated on gears, the scanner belt might have loose or the grips of the belt has worn out. Proper cleaning and lubricating the moving parts may overcome also if the belt worn out it has to be replaced.
In case of at home position it gives noise then the home position sensor may dirty/dusty, it has to be cleaned.

thanks.

When i power up the printer it make a loud noise. It appears to come from lower area below the cartridge. it makes the noise even if the cartridge isn't in

If this is a grinding noise it will be the gear assembly near the fuser on the printer. You would need a printer repair person to fix this for you.

Weird noise from printer carriage

The loud clicking noise is probably the carriage trying to move and something is keeping it from doing so. Check to see there are no foriegn objects obstructing the carriage head from moving across the paper. If nothing is found, then likely a hardware error exists.
hope this helps!

Printer made machine gun noise. will not print.

The print head is stuck - something has jammed it and the noise you are hearing is the carriage for the print head. Open the top and try moving the head by head sideways to see what has jammed it.

Loud grinding noise. Paper only coming half way out then getting Jam notice. Loud grinding is very loud.

Hi

Grinding noises indicate either gears that are self destructing or something is stuck inside. Take out the cartridge(s), remove the paper and all the plastic that comes off. Unplug the cables. Now lift the printer, turn upside down and shake. If there are broken gears a local repair shop might try to fix it but most stores refrain from this.

Color Laserjet 2550 Loud Noise when starting up and printing

Remove toner cartirdge and check gears on cart as well as all of the gears you can see inside the unit for any signs of wear. You may also need to remove the fuser assembly and perform the same task with the gears back there. MAKE SURE THE POWER HAS BEEN TURNED OFF AND THE PRINTER UNPLUGGED FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO TOUCH THE FUSER. IT WILL BE HOT!!! Most frequently these kinds of noises from the printer are due to gears slipping. Sometimes simply reseating the fuser assembly or toner cartridge will fix it. If there appears to be excessive wear on any of the gears, you will need to replace them.

Printer dead

Remove the cartridges and then pull out the print head. Look on the bottom for burned out circuit traces. Canon & HP printers (and some others) are designed to "zap" the printheads with a high current pulse that gradually destroys the printhead circuitry. This is to keep you coming back for more. These guys are greedy beyond belief! If your Canon worked for 3 years consider yourself lucky. This is not the only solution but it is definitely one which applies to this issue. The loud noise is not necessarily related to the black line/bad printhead problem.

Blinking Lights and Grunge Noise

Service time or replace it. If you are considering replacing it- you may well try to take top cover off to ensure there is nothing stuck.
