Re: 6GBipod

I think you fried it. put it under a lamp for a while (not too close to the lamp) to try and dry it out. if that doesnt work, something shorted out inside, and you can repair it or get a nice shiny new one

I accidently washed my brothers i-pod in the washing machine, and after I realized that, I hooked it up to my laptop to see if it was working. And it didn't even show the battery sign when I plugged it...

I really doubt. but if your a bit savy. you could try useing an ipod remover tool(must be available on ebay) and open up your ipod and change the battery and try.(if its a HDD(ie,classic), even the hdd might have gone bad.

in that case id suggest you to open r ipod and cry it for a few days in the heat (coming from a hot light source, ie bulb) and take out your battery and place your ipods hdd in the freezer and then wipe of the moisture with a tissue after a few hours and then check if it works.

try all this after your try the apples 5R technique.

    IPod went through the washer.

Open it to see if the Lithium battery is swollen. If it is you might only have to replace it. If you have tried to turn it on much while wet, your Pod is Pot. Sorry,

IPod shuffle got wet in the washing machine

If you've been trying to turn it on, then it's unlikely to work again. If anything like that happens again, "DON'T TURN IT ON". Take the item apart carefully keeping the screws together and leave the parts spread out in a warm dry place like an airing cupboard for about a week. Then put it back together and cross your fingers.

Hi golden, I don't think I have good news for you.

If the Ipod is gone through a complete wash, staying a long time in cold and hot water with detergent, and being bumped around all the time, then drying it will not be enough.

The water has for sure gone into the LCD display, into the internal memory, has shorted circuits etc.

The internal battery had lso been probably damaged by water.

I am afraid the only thing you can do is getting a replacement if the Ipod is still covered with guaranty.

Let me know if by chance the Ipod turns on showing something on screen.

    Ipod nano 4GB is WET

    Greetings Goldenlily13,

As a mom who did the exact same thing to her 14 year olds Ipod, I can totally empathize. However the only solution I came up with was to purchase a new Ipod. My daughter still has her original one due to sentimental value, it was engraved. It still has not ever worked again and this happened in March.

    Sorry I don't have a better solution.

    Washing Machine..........

THIS ONE WORKED FOR US !!!!!!!! My son ran his I-pod nano through the washing machine. We found it at the end of the cycle. The i-pod wouldn't do anything. We took it and used a hair blowdryer holding it while blowing hot air "at" it. Than I placed it standing up on the counter with paper towels under it for a day. After 3 days, we both thought it was DOA. But I tried one last thing. I plugged it into the computer and opened i-tunes. I clicked to restore it to factory settings and it started charging. I than click on to reload all his songs and in a few minutes it was up and running. If fact I am listening to it as I enter this entry.
