Hi I have just installed XP pro,fresh install on clean partition IDE drive 0. MY DVD RW is SATA this works to install, but is not seen by XP. (yellow mark in device manager) how do I get the right driver? I can download and I have a floppy drive.

This is strange, as normally CD/DVD drives don't need to have specific drivers installed they use generic ones. Quite possibly it could be your chipset or SATA motherboard chip that needs the drivers, have you installed these either from the web or from the drivers CD?

Make the DVD your 1st option for booting. It's also your CD drive but is identified as the DVD RW. Once this is made your default (make sure you accept and save the change before exiting) with your installation disk in the drive, boot up and it will read off the disk and prepare your system for install. If your disk is bootable, this will work.
ok reboot you computer and press delete when your bios boot screen appear then go on your hdd-ide-sata screen and look your sata configuration and set it on sata-enhanced or compatible this is becose you are running on windows xp. bye and good look
