The router has to be reset and we do not have the manaul .
We do not have the manual to reset the router for the computer that is hard wired in and I know that both computers have to have the same netwrok key in order for the comptuers to talk to each other. Do you have a free down load of themanual for the wgr614 router, or how do I get the password and the same network key for both computers?

What router? There is usually a reset button located on the back of the device near the AC jack. If you post the Make, Model of device it would be helpful. OR, "Google" the device for a User/Setup Manaul.
the manual tells that on all routers. for sure this.
RTM ?
asus.com
read the manual on how to use the HW reset button.
used only if can not log in to router and owned by you ,not ISP
If some one is accessing the router it's probably because there is NO PASSWORD, on the other hand if you had a password and gave it to that persone and can't remeber it you need to RESET the router to factory default (according to manual) than re-configure the device... (with a good password that you will remember)...
The port off to the side by itself is the one that should connect to your modem. If you have any wired computers, plug those in on any of the 4 grouped together. If the router does not function upon connecting everything, do a hard reset by holding in the reset button for 20-30 seconds. You will need to reconfigure it from a browser by visiting the address 192.168.1.1.
Check if the router is assigning IP addresses to the Wireless devices. Also se if you hard-wired desktop has been assigned an IP address manually. Else try to assign IP's to wireless devices manually (Depends on your setup)
Flashing lights on a router are routine - they indicate connectivity and traffic.
Seems to me the simple answer here is stay connected by wire. Wire runs much faster than wireless. Wireless is 10 <> while wire is usually either 100 or 1000. If you have to have wireless, do a hard reset on your router and also reload the drivers. Check with the manufacturer for any soft or firmware grades they may offer. If you find a firmware upgrade - make sure you understand the instructions before you start. If you fail in this department, you will have to replace your router. Had you given a little more information on this, I could have done better with links and such.
is the computer wired or wireless? try hard wiring the computer to the router or try doing a hard reset on the router. small hole on the back of the router, insert paperclip hold for a long 10 seconds... this will reset your router to factory settings as it came from the box.
If you forgot the password of your router. If ever you already change it from default, resetting is the only way now I know. If default consult your manual.
There's always a reset pin on every router. Go to manufacturer's site and download the manual for your particular model. Scan thru pages and look for Resetting the router.
please dont assign any manual addresses in ur computer..let it be automatic...
u said that u connected the computer to Ethernet ports in the router... check whether the light are lit in the router corresponding to that particular port.. check the ip address to that particular computer(hard wired to the router) ip address should be 192.168.1.100 or 101 or 102..if the ip addres comes in this range means its working good... if ther is no ip means please follow this steps...
1,connect the blue cable between the computer and the router(any 1 of the 4 ports in the
router)
2,connect the other Ethernet cable between the Modem(came from ur internet people) and the
Router's Internet port(standalone port at the back of the router)
3,In the rear panel of the router u can see the reset button.with the help of the paper or
ball point pen, press it hardly and hold it for 1 minute..
4,Now turn off ur modem and the router..wait for other 1 minute..
5,turn onn only the modem first and wait till all the lights lit.now turn on the router and wait
till the power light is solid..open the internet Explorer it should work..
