After installation new printer driver all client computer errors
Hi- I am new to this site. I am have no place to go that is why I really need your help.
My problem is that everytime I install one new shared printer on the server, I will receive complaints from the users that ALL printers are not working and needed to be reinstalled. Vista users will have the option to reinstall all the network printer drivers while XP users just needs to be deleted and re-added. Take note, this is for all printers on each users/computer. My printer server is windows 2003 standard edition with 4gb of RAM. I've been researching all over the net but no one can give me a good answer. Hope you guys can help!

frist of all u have to do this remove your printer from the control pannal go in add remove program remove your printer from there
then put your printer cd come with printer do not on your printer cd will be auto run then insall software during the installation your computer tell u power on your printer then u have on your printer power u will fienshed the setup
All these three methods involve some specific
code in the printer drivers both in Print server and clients.
Not all printers will have drivers that will
support all 3 ways of using the printer. It appears that not all printer
drivers, written for Windows Vista. If you can't get your network
printer, please try the following steps to bypass the LPT redirection. 1. Install the Vista printer driver on your
Windows Vista computer. 2. During installation, you'll be prompted
to connect the printer to your computer. Choose the option to proceed
with installation without connecting the printer. 3. After installation completes, open the
Printers wizard from the Windows Vista Control Panel. 4. Right click on the entry for the new
printer, and choose Properties. 5. Go to the Ports tab. 6. Click Add Port, select Local Port, then
click New Port. 7. For the port name, enter the network path
and share name of your printer ("\\TheirComputer\TheirPrinter1"). 8. Click OK, and verify that the new port is
selected. 9. Click OK to close the printer properties.
Based on the folders (spool/drivers) that sounds like the error is
coming from a printer driver. Try uninstalling the last printer you
installed and see if that resolves the issue.
If not, you can go into the Start Menu, under Accessories and System
Tools and find the find the System Restore. When you installed the
printer it should have created a Restore Point. Do a restore to that
Restore Point, and it will take your systems registry and drivers back
to the way they were before you did the driver update.
Once you have gotten rid of the error, by uninstalling ro restoring,
then you may want to check the web site of the printer's manufacturer
to see if there may be a new or corrected driver for the printer, and
install that one rather than the one you used before.
I have dealt with this situation before on a clients laptop. You need to go into the device manager and verify its still installed or contains an error. If it shows that there is an error, you to the HP support site and download a new driver for your laptop's webcam. Installing a new version of the driver will help. If your computer doesn't know it has a webcam and puts the hardware under erroroness other in the device manager, the same solution applies. Contact me directly if you need more help.
Probably the best and easiest solution for your problem would be to buy an EDIMAX USB-Ethernet print server, or something equivalent. I have several of these running on the network at work. They're easy to setup and they work great.
