Question about LG 37LP1D 37 in. LCD Television
Dears, My DELL LCD monitor E151FPb screen turns white when power on, no other display at all. Can someone help to provide solution. Next, after taken out all screws from the back panel, I have difficulty to open the monitor casing. Does anyone know how to open the back panel ? Where are the plastic catches at the back casing? I am afraid to break the casing and the LCD panel. thanks !
I also tried re-soldering joint L781 on the main power control board (see Solutions #2 and #7). It worked. My 15 inch Dell flat panel LCD is working again, white screen gone. The solder around the pin did looked different to to the other joints...a very slight gap around the pin as though it wasn't contacting properly. To locate L781, look at the bottom of the PCB (the side with the soldering) with the power plug socket at the edge closest to you. L781 is in the top left quadrant of the board, about 2 inches in from left, 1 inch down from the top. For good measure, I also tried the solution that suggested trimming a millimeter of the end of the two data ribbons that plug into the smaller control board, although I couldn't see anything wrong with the data ribbons. I did this at the same time as resoldering L781 so not sure if it made any difference.

My screen was washing out to white and would end up with checkered lines through it. I tried soldering where i could but quite by accident discovered that one of the ribbons was the cause. Mine was the little ribbon from the control board (The smaller board on the right when the back is off). In my case pushing on the connector brought back the picture. I fixed it by cutting off 1 millimeter from the end with scissors and reconnecting it.
Just check you data ribbons- it's cheap and easy.

Cold solder joints on the power board, Most likely L781

Well what do ya know! I just saved a couple of $20.00 bills! I had a E151FPB monitor with a solid white screen the solder connections holding the coil L781 where indeed bad you can't see the defect with the ***** eye or even a magnifying glass but I have a hi powered hand held scope viewer and even with that it was difficult to see the bad connections but let me assure you they were there. The monitor is now in use and has a wonderful picture! Thanks yall! and God Bless!

Same thing here with the white screen and I FIXED IT!!!! Just had to re-solder the L781 joint. Note: It did not look bad to the eye, but there must have been some sort of issue, because I just used some handy dandy solder wick from RadioShack and got it nice and clean, then re-soldered the connection.
Thanks to all of the previous posts about the L781 connection. You are all genius material.
Bow to you Sensei!!

Can someone tell me where the heck L781 is? Like take a picture or something? I feel like a blind idiot.

Wow, I was skeptical that this could solve my problem, but sure enough, resoldering L781 did the trick. Thanks!

I have the Dell E151FPb and when u plug it in u hear this churping sound and does nothing. i heard that by replacing the Q604 which is 2n7000 transistor. now also heard u can substitute it with 2n2222 and use 10k resistor at base.. please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org thank you

If you've installed A knew Video card on A PC which has an integrated one w/o Using the correct jumpers this will occur or if your video card goes out. don't open the back of your monitor you really could get killed, but if you do the plastic snaps are on the sides (2 each) 1/3 of the way up & 1/3 of the way down. A you won't break it.
