This is not likely a battery issue but is indicative of a phone that has gotten wet or has been infected with a virus or has other software issues. We work on cellular phones and would be willing to look at your phone to see if the phone numbers and pictures can be retrieved. Call 1-800-297-5550 and speak with Debby, 9 - 5, M - F, EST for shipping info. You can also contact Audiovox in NY to arrange for out-of-warranty repairs but they will not save your data as a part of the repairs.
If it is not charging because the charging port is broken, you should go onto Ebay and buy a three dollar universal phone charger. It charges the battery outside of the phone, so a broken port can be ignored. Also, buy another battery so that you can rotate them out every 12 hours. This is the cheapest solution possible, costing under ten dollars to fix completely.
IS THIS PHONE MADE FOR VERIZON WIRELESS? B/C IF SO YOU CAN NOT PUT A SIM CARD IN THE PHONE.. VERIZON PHONES WILL NOT AND DO NOT TAKE SIM CHIPS. THIS SHOULD HELP YOU.. IF IT WAS A VERIZON OR SPRINT PHONE CHANCES ARE THERE IS NO PLACE FOR A SIM TO GO...I AM SURE OF THAT THANKS
I was able to get mine to work for about ten to thirty mins with a new battery and using a toothpick to spread the charger port parts. The flat one with two notchs away from the black with the gold contacts. GENTLY press toothpick (nonconductive) against the two notchs part and GENTLY wiggle it away from the other. It took 5 snatch sessions to get all my stuff off. I used the battery that came with my LGvx8100 as they are the same. DO NOT CHARGE THE new BATTERY IN THE 6100.
I hate it when that happens! Batteries for cell phones these days are designed to only last about a year, and then the life will slowly decline from there. However, you seem to just have a faulty battery.
If you bought your phone through Verizon, they have a limited battery warranty program that lasts for one year. You can go to your nearest Verizon store and have them replace it, but make sure you bring your charger as well, they may want to just troubleshoot and test to make sure your charger isn't the problem.
If you are far from a Verizon store, or did not purchase your phone through them, you can purchase the batteries very cheap on ebay.. You wouldn't believe the markup on them!
