SOURCE: my instruction book on how to word my gpx mp3 player

Several ways.
Just plug in the small usb cable.
One of the options that should pop up is open to view files.
Once you do this it acts just like a drive.
Copy your mp3 files to it.

First, you need to ensure that the switch on the side is set to OFF...

then if you have Windows Media Player 9 and (Windows 2000 and before ie Windows ME/98) ,
Second, Hit the M Button and Make sure that you have the player set to USB

but then if you have Windows Media Player 10, 11 (Windows XP, Vista)
Hit the M Button and Make sure that you have the player set to MTP

and if you have no Windows Media Player ...
Hit the M Button and Make sure that you have the player set to USB
copy your music mp3 files using windows explorer or my computer

SOURCE: GPX DVD Player

Most items, first time your have to charge it for continious 8 to 11 hours. On that time it fully charge the battery and internal battery. I would say charge it for 11 hours.(It wont over chage on anything.)
But, if you already charged it for some time, discharge it fully. (Leave it playing till it wont even turn on when you puch the power button) Then charge it backfor11 hours.

Cheers!!

No cord and instruction book

the model you aks about should have come to you with both manual and USB cord. you may find a generic typeA to typeB USB will work though. When connected open Media player and click the tab SYNC to copy music to the device (you can also lower the compression as you don't need CD quality for earphones/mp3, this will give you extra space for songs on your mp3 player)

Regional code

1.- TURN ON THE DVD PLAYER
2.- PRESS OPEN/CLOSE
3.- PRESS THE FOLOWING NUMBERS 8888
4.- PRESS ENTER UNTIL SHOW "Region code: 9" (Region Free)
5.- PRESS OPEN/CLOSE

OR

1-Turn on your DVD player.
2-Open the tray.
3-Press 9 five times, you will see a number (for me it was 6, you'll see it on the screen, where the DVD displays all messages, like a blue bar up top) then I pressed 9 a few more time until the number being displayed there turned to a 9, when it does then press enter, now it's region free.
