Sounds like a bearing or the drive belt. Try turning the empty drum by hand. If it sounds normal you probably just need to replace the belt. If it make strange sounds when you turn it by hand then its probably the bearing.
The belt isn't a big deal but a bearing probably is.
it sounds like your roller bearings are bad you need to get the top open then take the front off loosen the belt take out the tumbler try to squirt oil on the shaft the rollers are on there should be two of them, put it back together and try it,if that doesn't work replace them.
Sounds like your drum rollers need lubrication or replacement.
If you have a front load machine, remove the front of the machine, this will expose the drum. Remove the drum and this will expose the drum rollers. Lubricate the drum rollers with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil at the shaft.
Hope this helps
sight unseen, its hard to say exactly, but it is a place to start by looking at the belt pulley. these will make squeaking sound when bad or going bad..The drum rollers usually make a thumping sound, however, they can squeak too before failing..I would try and add a few drops of turbine oil to see if either get quiet..if so, replace when find which one is causing noise..Bruce
its possible, the motor itself could cause this, but slim
You need to change your drum rollers. To get to them you take the dryer apart from the front not the back. There are 2 screws where the filter goes in on top. Then pull the top toward you and up. Then remove the 2 - 5/16 inch screws on each side of the front panel about 2 to 3 inches down. Then pull the front up and out. Then you will see everything. Replace the belt, drum rollers, and idler making sure to oil each as you re-install them. Then put back together and your on your way.
