The following link will explain the steps necessary for checking the drain pump for clogs:

If your pump does not have a clean out trap, simply remove the inlet and outlet hoses on the pump and inspect the impeller for obstructions. Make sure you also check the inlet hose where it connects to the bottom of the wash tub. I have personally found small articles of clothing trapped in this area. I hope this helps you.

Washing machine not draining

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.
Coin Trap If the washer won't drain the coin trap may be clogged. This washer is equipped with a device near the water pump called a coin trap. The purpose of this device is to trap any foreign materials that make their way down the drain. Normally, the coin trap can be accessed through an access panel. It is designed with the homeowner in mind and is normally easy to clean out.

My washing machine won't spin. i've cleaned the water hose filter and the pump filtre.

Hi eddyloz2000,

I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER

After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy task.

Kind Regards :-)

It will not let the water out or spin I think it is the water pomp how do I change the pump I have a frigidaire tumble action washer

First try pressing the start and cancel buttons for about 3 seconds and see if there is an error code, then you can troubleshoot from there....Have you checked the drain lint trap? It is inside the accordian looking drain hose that attaches the drum to the pump. It may be clogged. Use a wet/dry shop vac to remove as much water as possible. Unplug the machine. then remove front panel and remove clamps to check if it is clogged. Hopefully that is the problem!

Is leaking water at the back and running in the floor the hoses are tight drain pipe is in right

Here's what I've seen. Water will be full, machine goes to spin/drain and expects the water to be pumped out as predicted. If pump is clogged, the pump cannnot pump out water quickly enough and the spinning causes the water to spill over the back of the tub, between the tub and balance ring. The balance ring is never sealed tightly to the tub so water will get through. Fill the basket with water, extra high, hold lid switch down, and see if it drains out fast enough so water doesn't spin out. If this is the case, pull pump, dislodge debris.

I can't get the water to spin out of the cylinder. I think it is clogged with feathers from a down blanket I tried to wash. Is there a filter that I can clean out?

You can TRY to blow the clog backwards into the washing machine... by packing a "blow" canister vacuum cleaner or a shop vac on "blow". If the pump is clogged, the reverse pressure will force the clog into the washer... and then you can mix it with some water and try to let it go out in the normal way.

The machine must have the water turned off and the machine must be set to the "drain" setting. The pump will clog sometimes (rare) and I have used air pressure to clear them before.

Only other solution that I know if is to lay the empty washer on its face and access the pump from underneath... disconnect the exhaust hose and try to "fish" out the clog.... good luck

Water not draining

HI, check the following to address this issue.

**The most common issue will be an obstructed hose or, line

ND...our samsung won't drain and spin cycle doesn't help

I had similar problem. It would wash but not spin and drain. Spin would only happen when there was no water inside (I removed it manually.) If it spins when empty of water then it could be the outlet from under the drum to the exhaust pump is clogged or the pump itself is clogged. I found $3 in change and a bunch of plastic tags etc.. Remove the bottom panel and unscrew filter (bottom right) check for obstruction. Also tilt machine to side and undo rubber hose from drum to pump to check for obstruction.
