Place the tv on its screen flat on a soft surface,
you need to remove all the screws, not just the stand one marked.
Lift the back panel and then you will be able to slide down the stand, when you have removed the back cover you will also see where how your wall mount will fit to the chassis.
Place all the screws back on the back lid.

SOURCE: tv stand screws
Check the kitchen drawer next to the fridge for the screws !!
When you get new screws, use lengths 1/2".. any longer and you might hit something inside.
Don't know why this is posted under IS-LCDTV26.. I would pull a screw from my 26" and measure it, but it's most likely different than your 42"

SOURCE: removing stand from tv
Ive just removed the base stand off my 40" Samsung and all you hace to do is remove the 4 screws that are marked S and the base slides out
But the screws must be fully removed from the sockets before the stand comes away so a magnetic screw driver or something simular is what to need to fully take them from the sockets.
Hope this helps as some of the prevoius replys really helped me
Happy Screwing Folks

forget the four holes on the bottom of the stand. Remove the five allen bolts on the back bottom of the tv-not the stand. Yank on stand and metal plate slides out with stand.
