Question about MP3 & Digital Media Players

New MP4 came with mini disk driver and no insturctions how to use

No instructions on how to use mini disk driver on my iMac
I wish someone would explain step by step how to use this.
Instructions that came with MP4 are incomplete and when I plugged it into my computer and turned it on the display shows a number of Z Z's and a
monitor -nothing in manual with this picture. I guess it means the MP4 is asleep -but nothing I can do or push makes anything else happen.
Please help if you can!!!!!

Please your answer is not complete enough -please answer all my questions

  • rillbill Dec 09, 2008

It is a Missil Digital MP4 Player 8D-2801 that came with incomplete instructions and a mini driver disk, which I am concerned about putting into my iMac computer, as it is so small and might cause problems with my computer.
I have the unit attached to my USB and the screen shows only ZZZZ.
I really need step by step instructions on how to operate all the functions available.
    Thanks

The player has a mini disk driver that does not want to be accepted by my
iMac - I don't want to force it in and when I do put it in as far as it will go
(into the larger slot located on the side of my iMac) it ejects it every time. Should I force it in? Don't want to cause damage to computer.

I have connected the player via the USB connection to my computer and it
charged the unit. I tried going to iTune to try downloading a song but can
hearing nothing with the ear speakers.

Opened the icon for the MP4 on my computer and see this from:-
Stuffit Expander message -The file/Vol./MP4player/mtplist.bin does not appear to be compressed or encoded.
Obtain further info. about contents of this file from sender or provider of the file. (The morely written User Manual) does not contain a contact number and can't locate a contact for MISSIL anywhere on the net)

I also went on line and downloaded Xilisoft MP4 Converter for Mac and tried to download that on my player -but get the message at the end of the install that there is nothing to install - yet the downloaded Xilisoft indicates it contains 26.7 MB
Better go back to using a manual typewriter (if they are still available, in a museum probably.)

p.s. The pkg.containing the MP4 player had the Mac. icon on it so I assumed it would work
with my Mac. -but maybe not.
MAYBE I SHOULD JUST TAKE THE -- THING BACK --
    WHAT DO YOU THINK ?
THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN SUPPLY!!!

  1. Import DVD Movies
    1.  Click the Load DVD button, select the folder of your DVD movie, and click OK. If the movie is on your disc drive, you can just select the drive and click OK.Or click the Load IFO button, open the folder of your DVD movie, and you will find two folders in it: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. Open the VIDEO_TS folder, select all the IFO files, and then click OK.After the movie is imported, you can see all the chapters and titles in it, and then you can check the ones you want to convert. If you want to convert the whole movie, you can just keep all the titles or chapters checked.Set the Output Settings. Before the conversion, there are a few settings you should make:Select an output format from the Format drop-down list. (Here you can select an MP4 format for iPod, iPhone, Apple TV or PSP).Click the Settings button to set encoding settings including video resolution, frame rate, bit rate and video encoder, audio encoding settings including sample rate, channel, bit rate and audio encoder.Name each title/chapter in the Output Filename field, and select the subtitle and audio track for the titles/chapters.Note: You can check the “Merger into one file” option to join all the selected DVD titles/chapters into one file instead of creating a separated file for each title/chapter.Conversion.Click the Start button to start the conversion. And now you can just go talk a walk and wait till the conversion is completed. After that, you can just transfer the created files to your MP4.
[edit]TipsTip 1: Trim MovieIf you just want to convert a clip from your DVD movie, you can click the Trim icon to capture a clip In the Trim window, you can trim the length of the current title/chapter by either dragging the Start Time and End Time sliders or setting the time parameters in each corresponding field.Tip 2: Crop VideoIf you DVD video has black sides, you can use this Crop function to remove them.Click the Crop icon to open the Crop window, and set the crop area by dragging the crop frame or setting the four crop parameters (Top, Bottom, Left and Right).Tip 3: Movie EffectIf you are not content with the original effect, you can click the Effect icon to set the video brightness, contrast, saturation, and audio volume. You can also choose to apply a special effect to your movie video from effects including Gray, Emboss and Negative.

The drivers should be on the mini disk for the iMac, just pop it into the DVD and install the drivers, when you connect the MP4 player to the iMac it should wake up and you can use all the functions on it

The reason it show the zzzs is because it is in sleep mode while connected to a system, First unplug it from you system run the minidisc then after/durring install if prompted plug it back it. when not pluged into the system turn it on to see what it looks like without it sleeping

Use the mindisc as an ordinary disc, just put in the cd-driver and run it.
Minidisc is just like an ordinary disc, just a little bit smaler, but the cd-driver runs it like any normal disc

Hopfully your MP4 wakes up after you installation

Good luck

The disk driver that you have might be incompatible with mac. You can try to download the mac version software of your mp3 player. You can visit the manufacturer's site.

Downloading JPEGs to an MP4 Player

Hey Wythywndle,

Without knowing the exact model MP4 player you're referring to, I'm not sure that it's possible to provide exact instructions. Many media players however, are able to use a standard drag-and-drop interface, much like an external hard drive. If your player supports this function, you will need to have it connected to your computer in order to transfer files.

To use a drag-and-drop interface, you will need to access the "My Computer" option within most versions of Windows. Open one viewing pane for the directory where you keep the photos you want to transfer, and another for the MP4 player. The player should appear in the "My Computer" menu as an external storage device. Simply click on the files you want to transfer to the player, drag it over the player's icon in the other window, and drop the file into the player.

Please keep in mind that not all media players are able to support this function, and that you may need the software that came with the player to upload any new content. If you're still not sure how to proceed, you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly for more information.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Premier 2gb mp4 player

there is no current soloution, there is a virus on the net that completly wipes all information off mp4's including the driver files, repair files and mp4 player files.
the only temporary way to fix it is to either find another mp4 and copy the sofware off that and install the divices from the copied folder, or somehow download the files off the net.
