Re: removing CD drive on dell inspiron 9300
While the PC is on eject the DVD tray and turn off the computer, underneath the laptop you should find a screw which is holding it in place, when you find the correct screw and unscrewed it pull gently on the DVD and it should slide out, put your new one in and replace the screw, job done :)

This one isn't too bad. The lcd for this labtop can be found on ebay.com for 69.99 to 150.00.
its pretty inexpensive. The hard part will be putting the lcd in. If you have not taken apart electronics before it can be pretty hard to do. You have to basicley remove the keyboard, remove the screws that hold the LCD on, then you have to remove the lcd rails. and then re-install the components. If it is just the blacklight that has gone out this can be easier or harder and i usually recommend replacing the whole lcd if its that inexpensive. I hope this helps out
P.S. just search on ebay for "Dell Inspiron 1525 lcd"
check it with external monitor if you get display then lcd is gone bad otherwise if you get dell logo then restart the system , press Fn key and power on the button it will start psa test
check for any hardware failures.
if hardware is working fine hen you will have to reset the system back to factory settings or reinstall fresh operating system.
Go to the support.dell.com webpage, enter the service tag number, located on a label on the bottom of the laptop, and download the latest BIOS update and drivers for the CD/DVD drive. You can verify the drive type in Device Manager. Once you have downloaded the files, upgrade the BIOS, this will restart the system. Next, remove the CD\DVD in Device Manager and then install the new driver for the drive. When the driver has been installed, Open Device Manager and right click on My Computer at the top of the list and left click on Scan for changes. The drive will be detected adn installed with the new driver and the registry will be updated.
Good luck, and please let me know how it works for you.
