Try upgrading the drivers for the sound card. You should be able to get them from the Toshiba website.

Camera shutter sound comes from my toshiba satellite (window8) My camera is off, i dont know how this sound is coming and is pretty annoying, comes in an interval of of 10 min or even hours. PLease Help

Does this continue even if the sound is turned all the way down, or even muted? If it does, you may have a more serious problem than a camera sound. If not go into your sound application in the control panel and check the system sounds.

1. check the volume control mixer in the Windows task bar to see if you haven't muted the sound.
2.check the mute button on your laptop panel to see if you haven't muted the sound there also.
3. check for driver update for the laptop sound card at the manufacturers site.

go to control panel. using classic view, choose sound and audio device. from the dialog check whether the system speaker it in mute state. If its not in mute state. There is another option, u restore ur system back . click start, run, type restore in the space, enter, double click on the restore icon, it wil open the restoring points you have on your system. choose the date that u know that all the drivers are working well, then ok. Your system will restart. Thats all very simple.

The sound went down on my loptop I tried every

Check the Control Panel --> Sounds --> and see if the sound is muted (a check box). Or perhaps the MIDI or MAIN soud is turned all the way down...

Generally, a 5 year old can't fool around enough to disable the driver, but, if all else fails, try and disable the driver in the Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows "discover" new hardware and reinstall the audio driver.

Hope this helps!

No sound thru speaker or jack, pc do not see sound card present.

Make sure nothing is muted.
Make sure the device is selected and working.
If still no sound, reinstall The Sound driver.
Good Luck.

Send me the URN for my model

Some things I'd check first:

1) Device Manager: confirm you have a hardware/driver issue: you'd see a yellow circle with exclamation mark next to the item with a problem

2) Sound and Audio Devices - that the system Master Volume isn't muted AND check that the volume is set; while you are at it check that the "Wave" input isn't muted/volume is turned up

3) Check the external volume control - set it at half way

4) try using a set of headphones (rule out bad laptop speakers?)

In terms of drivers, do you have a Satellite A60 (vs EA60-155)? I couldn't see that model on the download support pages:

Toshiba Canada
Toshiba USA
Toshiba Europe

All require you to specify the model, then specific model. I used the EU site for the Satellite A60 laptop. Among the list of drivers shown, I see one for the sound card.

No sound on the laptop

If you have windows XP check : control panel / Sound speech and audio devices / Sound and audio devices. Then check that the volume cursor can be moved and that the device is not muted. If this doesnt work remove the sound card from device manager, and install it back using drivers from your recovery disk or download them from Toshiba website.

Hope it helps
