Have you checked the drying drum to see if it spins freely? Open the door and verify it spins freely. if it does then the motor may just be in a bad spot. usually after spinning the drum a turn or two it will get it running. it humms and clicks because of the motor not turning and trips an thermal overload switch and you have to wait for it to reset. Now if the drum dosent turn then you have a problem with drum rollers or something stuck in the way of the drum.
if it makes a humming noise for a short peiod then stops and after a while it does it again the drum maybe stuck and making the motror go off on overload try turning the drum by hand and see how it spins
This is a sign of the Motor failing. The motor is over heating and then wont start again. When the start button is pushed, does it make a humming noise? If so replace drive motor and it will fix it all up!
The hum sound that you hear is coming from the motor that has gone bad and needs replacement. When the dryer humms and will not work it is the motor that has gone bad, you can also check the wire connections from the control to the motor before replacing it.
