Question about Magellan MAESTRO 3100 98083401 GPS Device
3140, tried to use a map update I was given. I believe I deleted the endite drive, now I can only boot to the whit screen and if I hold reset and start, I get the setup screen, have tried with no sucess to reflash . I thought it was similar to an eprom, but my own screw up caused the problem, I should have stopped whil I still had the blue screen, will appreciate if anyone can help, don't mind paying someone if they nail it. As a trader my word is usually enogh for most.

There seems to be issues with magellan batterys, being subjected to the cold has also been proven to effect the battery life, magellan offers a 1 year service on all units. I hope this has answered your question.

SOURCE: magellan 3250 won't update
Hi, I had the same problem with my 3200. Got the update, and it bricked my unit. After 3 weeks of searching the net for solutions, all of which did not work, I called Magellan Tech Support today. Simply told them that I was updating the maps, update failed, and now the unit will not boot past the blue magellan screen with the progress bar. They asked for some information, including the email address that you used to register the product, and the serial number of the unit, as well as the map update information...which you had to register to get the unlock code. They are able to see all of this c in their tests on the unit, which of course did not work. I was then given a RA#, and account #, and was assured that I would get a pre-paid shipping label via email within 24 hours. All you have to do is pack the unit and take it to fed-ex with the label. They will fix your unit with the updated maps, and return it to you via Fed-Ex. Took no longer than 15 minutes on the phone, which beats the 3 weeks of research that did not help. Problem solved. Just call Tech Support, this is a well-known problem, and they will fix your unit and update the map. Hope this helps.

Call Magellan tech support at 1 800 707 9971 before calling make sure your product is registered.I had a similar problem with 4250 model and there was an error that showed 90% into the uploading process and my unit froze up . I received a repair number and shipping the unit back and I was`told will take a week.

try this site..its not an easy fix but it can be done try bricked it the roadmate maestro section...its in there somewhere, i have read it but like i said, its not easy.
