You will need to connect your camera to your computer
if you can see your sd memory on your computer

click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes

automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start

you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive

I found that you get best results by ticking one box then returning after it has finished then tick the other box

hope this helps

Samsung SL202 card error I bought an SD card with adapter and camera says "card error".

Question edited for clarity.

This is always because people buy modern SD Cards that are far too bit for older cameras. The maximum size for an SD Card is 2GB. Also you must format the card inside the camera.

Micro sd adapter i keeps in camera it is shows card locked

SD and Mini SD memory cards has a small slide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects data on the memory card or add photos to the SD card. Slide the switch from the LOCK position to the UNLOCK position, which is furthest away from the contacts.

I can not get our memory card to format. it says card error. we are using a microSDHC Ccard with adapter 4gb

Is the camera compatible with SDHC? If it can only handle SD memory cards this card is not readable in the device. It will show on the camera whether it is compatible with SDHC. If it doesn't have the logo, take it as the card won't work and you'll need to get a normal SD card.

There is a theoretical maximum of 2GB for SD memory cards, SDHC start at 4GB and go up to 32GB.

Simply put, if your camera is quite old, it won't support SDHC and therefore is limited to a maximum of 2GB memory card.

I bought a 2gb micro sd memory card and it was working properly. After a week i tried to format it . Since that day my memory card became read-only . Then i scanned it using an error detecting software...

If you're using a SD card adapter to connect it to your computer, please verify that the adapter lock switch isn't active, this can set your SD as read only.

Memory card error card says locked

Hi!

SD cards (or MicroSD, using an adapter) are locked using a mechanical switch on their left side.
Simply, take the SD card (or the SD adapter) and change the switch position.
Usually the UP position is the Unlocked position...

I put an 8GB microsd card (with an microSD to SD adapter) in may Pentax OptioX and when I open my camera, I have a short delay, then I receive an 'Memory card error'. What's the problem? Thank you.

The S5i uses SD cards. This means you can use microSD cards with an adapter. However, your 8GB card is actually a microSDHC card, which with the adapter appears to the camera as an SDHC card. SDHC cards are electronically incompatible with SD devices and will not work. You need to use SD and/or microSD cards, which max out at 2GB in size.

I just bought a new memory card (8gb) for my digital camera (Samsung NV10) and when I inserted the memory card, I kept getting "Card Error". It said I should format the new memory card and I tried to...

The largest SD card you can use in your Samsung NV10 is 2GB. thats why once you insert the 8GB sd card its shows card error or need to fromat.

FYI. for every digital camera there's a compatible memory card and you can see from the box or manual and Its writen SD or SDHC.

goodlukc and thank you

Hi.. I think you have solved the problem yourself... replace the adapter with a memory stick... You have eliminated the micro sd card as bad... now try a new known good memory stick..

Copying pictures from computer to memory card

i have seen this error and i dont know why it does that. you may want to try buying a micro disk setup that fits into a sd adapter that will fit in your camera.

then you can take out the micro disk when full and put it on a usb adapter and plug right into a usb port.

i know this sounds like more work but so far i havent had a lock up on that or error yet. go to tigerdirect.com if you want to see the different adapters for the sd disk and micro disk and usb etc....

maybe this might help
