Patch of purple "scribble" lines on corner of screen

A patch of what looks like purple crayon scribble lines, pixelated, has suddenly appeared on the bottom right corner of the screen, from my vpl hs10. (No crayons in the house! and it's not on the screen!) I've changed the filter, blown the dust out, cleaned the lens and cover, etc. with no change what-so-ever. It appears to be more internal. Any ideas?

Re: patch of purple "scribble" lines on corner of screen

I took mine apart because I have a pink blob and scribble lines coming from it. It is definately the LCD inside that is part of what they call the prism block. The bad news is that you can't buy the LCD individually, and the block assembly is $1000. I contacted Sony about this and that is the solution they gave me. Hopefully, some of you have an extended warranty, because I don't see it being worth fixing for that cost. Try looking for a junked one I guess.

Sounds like the same problem that I just started having. Although my scribble lines are yellow. Personally I'm thinking that one of the three LCD panels has cracked internally and will need to be replaced.

I have a problem with the picture on my Infocus IN1501. It has small squares on it and I see every pixel. How do I remove this?

Generally the screen is full of pixels, and thats a good thing.
It's a problem when you see the pixels that should be off, and don't see them when they should be visible.

So I presume that your pixel problem may be the first type where they appear when they should be hidden.

Now it would be good to know if the bad pixels are all one colour, or if you have chromatic pixelation problems.

Monochrome pixel problems are better than chromatic pixel problems. But alas all pixel problems come back to the DMD or the colour wheel.

Either way your machine is basically compost material for the garbage shredder, unless you want to pay big money to replace the faulty bits.

Ask the local serviceman or servicewoman to give you a quote to look inside the unit and see where the pixels have gone astray.

Image is bright but there is a slight issue - on the left hand side a purple line displays vertically. Anybody knows why is this fault appeared and how could it be solved.

There is three LCD in the projector red, green and blue. If green LCD make any fault mean line or dot or dots then screen show these line or dot in purple color:
If line is very straight and sharp edges then green LCD is faulty and need to be replaced.
If line is not straight and faded edges then some thing in LCD block so your projector need service

Thick purple line scrolling up from bottom of screen continually

if it is a uniform pulsating line, then it is the main board or engine. if it is a fuzzy line it is the light tunnel

My proxima dp6155 projector after any time looks with a vertical purple line in the right side, whats the problem

reset the settings to factory default. there may be a resolution issue. make sure it matches the source. if the line is straight and goes right along the pixel line, you may have an lcd issue. if it's blurred, it could be a bad polarizer.

Got a purple stripe from the lower edge of the screen center to center. gradient to the middle of screen. like 100 lines wide. any hints THANKS michi m

if it's sharp edged and inline with the pixels, you have a bad green lcd panel. if it's fuzzy and random, you have a burnt light filter. either way, it's an optical engine issue. you can try to go into the case, remove the ribbon cable for the green lcd (unlock the ribbon clip first) and reinsert it and lock it down. if that doesn't work, you'll have to replace it.

Coloured patches on screen, usualy in corners

your suspection is right that there may be a build up of fine dust in the projectors over time and could this be affecting the three LCD panels. you can open the optical unit and service the same. Your problem will be solved. By replacing lamp is not the solution
