No, still have problem with dryer.

  • wjulie19 Dec 10, 2008

    Hi Barry

Many thanks in replying, sorry not got back sooner, my hubby is disabled and had to take him to the hospital.

The dryer has a solid door on the front, (can't see drum), on the front of the dryer it has 3 dials - start, full/1/2 full and timer.

When you open the door there is a fluff gatherer (sorry don't know proper name) on the inside of the door itself, there is a thing that you pull out at the bottom of the dryer (presume condenser at the front under drum and then a box thing that collects water.

There is a sticker on the inside s/n 409080867 and on the back of the dryer there is a sticker which states model number 29327

Many thanks for taking time out with this problem.

    Kind regards

    Julie

You need to check heater and thermostat(s), with a multimeter.
If o/k then could be faulty timer.
You did not state wether it was a vented dryer, or a condenser dryer., as this makes a difference to the solution, because other components are involved.

Hi Lulie. can I ask you for the exact model of the dryer, because depending on which one it is there are several different solutions possible?

Does it have a display at all on the control panel?

    Any more info would help.

    'Cheers.

    Barry

    Hi Julie.

Sorry to be a pest, but the number you gave me is not the model number.

What you are looking for is:Mod no-or Cat no.

It is sometimes on the front of the dryer at the top., or inside the door. Look for a number starting (G) OR (IS).

    Barry.

Hi Julie. Thanks for further info.

Maybe now we can sort your problem out.

i expect you have cleaned the lint filter at the front and emptyed the water container and pushed it back in properly.

Check the air vents are clean at the front and rear of the dryer.

Make sure you have selected the right heat setting and not overload or put in very wet clothes.

If after having checked all these thigs and it it still does not heat, then it narrows it down to about 4 possibilities.

    1-heater and or thermostat(s) faulty.

    2-faulty timer.

    3-faulty heater relay

    4-bad or broken connection.

There is nothing else I can suggest, other than calling some one in to look at it.

If you call indesit in, it is going to cost you at least £90.00 to get an engineer to come out and fix it.

suggest you try and find some one locally that you knpw and can trust to fix it.

    Good luck.

    Barry.

I have a indesit is31vu tumble dryer and it started to blow cold air i think it must be the thermostat hust wondered is it easy to change or am i better off buying new one?

There is more than 1 thermostat, and it could be the element.
TThe parts are located at the rear of the dryer behind a removeable panel.
You need a meter to test them with.
Hope this helps.

Why is my indesit dryer blowing out cold air

It is more than likely that the heater element, and or the thermostat/s are faulty.
The only sure way to determine the cause of the prob, is to test them with an electric test meter.
Please rate my soution.
Thanks.

Tumble dryer running but only blowing cold air

If your dryer is turning then things are not so bad. If a dryer is not heating then you need to check a few things.

First disconnect the power to the unit. Then you must check the heating element and the limits which are mounted on the heating box.
Remove one lead from the element and check for continuity thru the element. If you have continuity then check the limit by measuring for continuity, again you must remove one of the leads. This should solve your problem

My Indesit IS70C is only blowing cold air. It was fine this morning. Do we have to remove the silver back to get to the thermostat?

Remove the lower rear panel, there you will see the heater element and thermostats, make sure the heater is o/k, and replace both stats.
Plz rate my solution
Thanks.
