Question about Dayton 511 Utility Heater

1 Answer

I need a gas valve for a Dayton model 3E473A wall furnace

I have an older Dayton natural gas wall furnace, model 3E473A that has a bad gas valve. I think the part number is 7000ARB for the gas valve. I could also use a new thermocouple but the one I have is still working so this is not a priority. The parts for this firnace are no longer available from Grainger.

You can look for a gas that we go in place of the one you have, try national energy they sell gas valves and should have one to fit your heater , i would change the thermocouple as well .
hope this helps

Pilot runs gas valve clicks but no ignition dayton 3e226c

There is a small Allen head screw in the gas valve that can be removed to test for gas after the gas valve. When the gas valve opens, gas should be present at that port. If none, you have a bad gas valve. If you gas gas, then there must be a restriction at the main burner.

The Dayton brand belongs to WWGrainger if the parts are available that would be the only place.

Switch a natural gas furnace over to lp

WW Granger is the biggest supplier I know of for dayton. Consult them for information and if its still available.
In lue of this find the oldest repair man you trust and ask him if he knowes anything about them. I know I could help if I could see what you have and had some more questions answered. Pilot ignition? Gas valve model? Does it have a regulator in the gas valve? Then you have to find a kit to block open the regulator. Then change the orfices to correct size or solder and redrill the old ones. Then maybe adjust the combustion air, and you may have to change the pilot burner orfice and adjust it.
After that you can fill the LP tank.
Hope this helps IF so please grade me accordingly and Good Luck.

Dayton 3e735 standing wall furnace

Wall furnace? maybe and maybe not! if there is a way it would be on the gas valve and be labeled (though it might be hard to read). often the adjustment screw is under another screw but always labeled.

Fault Code on Dayton Gas Furnace

This happens when the furnaces tries to light to many times and doesnt succeed. If you stand in front of the furnace while it is coming on, you will be able to hear the problem. If its an electronic start, there will be a clicking sound, followed by the gas valve opening to start it. If it has a pilot light, make sure it is lit, then listen for the gas to come out, it will make a hissing sound. If no gas is coming out, first double check to see if the gas is turned on to the unit, if it is, then its possibly the gas valve. Oh, if it is electronic, and you hear gas, but dont see a glow inside the furnace, or no glow or gas, it could be the ignite. Hope this helps.
